Kyndell's P.O.V.

A lobby?

I was standing in a lobby.

After blinking several times I turned around and made sure the door I entered from was still there. It was. This was too wierd. One second I was sprinting down a dark narrow hallway through an old warehouse, then I find myself in a nicely decorated lobby-like room.

What now?

I shaked off the confusion and started searching for another exit. Three minutes later and I still hadn't discovered anything but dust. I let out a frustrated sigh, turning on my heels to head back. In the process of turning around I felt my foot catch on something, causing me to face plant. I looked down and realized that the only thing under me was an expensive looking rug, nothing was there.

Taking a closer look, I noticed the fabric was slightly uneven. I gasped and jerked the material away. A square metal door appeared where the rug had previously been laying. I unhooked the latch and sprung the door open. A dim light could be seen from inside, but there was no way of telling how far down the drop was. I stared down the hole, trying to find the ground underneath it. No such luck. I let my body fall and braced myself for the impact.

The next thing I knew I was looking up at the opening with the breath knocked out of me. I had landed right on my back. Biting back a groan, I pulled myself up slowly into a sitting position. While I was catching my breath I realized that a rope ladder had been leading up to the entrance the whole time. I'm so smart.

A dark voice echoed around me, "What do you mean someone is inside! How the fuck did that happen!"

Another smaller voice wimpered, "I don't know Sir, a bunch of the cages were broken into and a window was open."

"How many?" The first voice asked.

The second voice didn't reply.

"Don't make me repeat myself." Shivers ran down my spine as the voicce clicked in my head. Yup, you guessed it. Neal.

"All of them..." The small voice squeeked.

"Even the Youtuber's sister?!" Neal roared and my ears perked up. They had to be talking about Sarah.

"She was one of the first ones gone, Sir." I let out a breath I didn't realize I had been holding. Kian and Sarah were safe.

"How could you let this happen?" Neal asked, oddly calm.

"I-I-I-I didn't know, I thou- we couldn't see the-" A sickening crunch erupted through the darkness and I almost threw up. I knew that sound. That sound was a sound that you couldn't unknow once you heard it.

"Sabrina! Go find whoever infultrated my system and end them! I don't care who they are, open fire if you have to!" Footsteps scurried dangerously close to my fingertips and I froze in place. They stopped right beside me and a loud bang caused me to jump. Sabrina rumaged around and finally found what they were looking for. The sound of ammo being pumped filled my ears. Seconds later, her footsteps dissapeared.

I slowly reached my hand upward, praying for something I could use. My fingertips came in contact with cool metal and I smiled. This was better then I could've asked for. This was a gun.

Smirking, I scooted closer and closer to where I had heard Neal's voice from. I took a deep breath and prepared myself.Happiness invaded my thoughts. If I could pull this off then I could go back to Sam. We could be together forever without any fear. I would get to meet Katheraine and Jc's baby, and spoil it rotten. I'd hook Trevor up with someone he deserved. Get married, have kids, be happy. It all seemed so close to me. That was all I had really wanted, happiness. Life seemed to make sense now. This paradise was seconds away, all I had to do was move one finger.

A small smile broke across my face and I rounded the corner, my new life clouding my thoughts.

Well, every hope that I had just started thinking about came crashing down as I came face to face with a barrell. A loaded barrell. Two crazed black eyes trained on me and I felt my heart brake.

"Checkmate."

Everything seemed to go into slow-motion. I saw the gun jump and watched as the bullet raced towards me.

Sam.

I never realized how bad I needed him, how he needed me, until now.

I remembered the first time I looked into his chocolate eyes, and immeadiately felt drawn to him. The first time we kissed, golden sparks. The carnival, the movies, the swimming pool. The time we slept under the stars, and woke up to sprinklers. The way he looked at me, even when I had just rolled out of bed. The way he unconciously tightened his grip around me in his sleep. The way he listened to my problems, and accepted me. The way I fell in love with him. I want to live.

I WANT TO LIVE

I felt a tear roll down my face and closed my eyes.

Everything was numb. It was as if the entire world had faded into nothingness. A faint humming noise filled my ears. Colors danced across my eyelids.

Several loud noises filled the air along with yelling voices, but they didn't matter now. Soon, even they dissapeared. It's really strange what you think about right before you die.  The last thing I thought was how I would never see Ricky's stupid white pedo-van again. But then again, I'd always been a strange girl.
