“Are you still talking to that jerk?” Matt asked Tala as they entered the beach compound.
“Do you mean Theo? Why?” she asked as she put her earphones and her iPod inside of her bag.
“His car is parked on his parent’s driveway” Jake pointed to a house. He was the one who was driving the car.
“Did you tell him that we are spending the weekend here?” Matt asked again. He was obviously pissed about it.
“I had no idea that they also have a house here” Tala said in her defense.
“Tala, even my parent’s owns a house here” Jake reminded her.
“Why are you still talking to him?” Matt was furious.
“He apologized, okay?” Tala zipped her bag.
“And you forgave him?” Matt laughed full of disdain.
“You’re making it sound as if I did an atrocious thing” she said pretty annoyed.
“You forgave him after what he did to you?” Matt said in disbelief.
“What exactly happened that night Tala?” Jake looked at the rear view mirror.
“He touched my bum. He was drunk and he apologized the following day. Can we drop it already?” she asked.
“He fucking what?!” Jake stepped on the brakes. He turned crimson.
“Are we here already?” River woke up from the sudden jolt of the car.
“Yes and guess who’s joining us for the rest of the weekend?” Matt sarcastically asked.
“Your ex followed us here?” she yawned.
“Jake say something” Tala was nervous.
“Which part of his body do you want me to break?” he asked.
“He apologized already, okay?” she repeated.
“Well I’m not asking you, I’m asking Matt” he said as he looked at his cousin who was seated at the passenger side.
“Hit him on the face” Matt suggested. He was serious which alarmed Tala. Jake killed the engine.
“Jacob!” she panicked when Jake stepped out of the car.
“Shit! I think you broke my nose” Theo complained to his cousin as he got up from the fall. His nose was bleeding.
“That’s nothing compared to what I want to do with you” Jake furiously replied.
“How many times do I have to tell you both that he apologized already?” Tala was horrified. She had no idea Jake had a violent side.
“Tala it’s okay, I deserve that punch” Theo told her which surprised his cousins.
“That’s a lot of blood” River blurted out. She turned white.
“Are you okay?” Matt asked their landlady.
“I feel queasy” she answered.
