“You’re late!” River scolded her. Tala was in pain but she dare not show it to the birthday celebrant.
“Sorry” Tala apologized, “Traffic” she sheepishly said as she tried to scan the room.
“Jake?” their landlady asked.
“Yeah, is he here?” she asked. There was no point in denying that she’s looking for him.
“He arrived with a plus one” their landlady told her.
“Good” she smiled but she felt like her heart was being stabbed with hundred needles.
“You really want him to move on, don’t you?”
“Yes” she smiled.
“Tala drink!” Matt handed her a glass.
“What’s this?” Tala asked.
“Grey Goose” he answered. She took a sip. “Does she know already?” he looked at River.
“Yes I already know” Tala replied.
“Well speaking of..” River said as she looked behind Tala. Matt and Tala turned around. Jake was walking towards them with his date.
“Hi” Tala smiled. Jake looked at the glass that she was holding. “Hi I’m Tala” she introduced.
“Hi I’m Honey” Jake’s date introduced herself.
“Nice to meet you” Tala smiled.
“This is embarrassing but I sort of just had my period..” Honey mumbled.
“I have a pad. I’ll just go get it in the car” Tala offered.
“Thanks” Honey smiled.
