Chapter 8
“Why are you still awake?” Jake asked Tala. She was lying on his bed wrapped in his comforter.
“Actually I’m feeling kinda fuzzy already but I need to pee” she said as she got out of the bed.
“How is she?” River peeped at the door.
“Doped as shit” Tala laughed at herself as she walked towards the bathroom.
“Do you have work tomorrow?” Jake asked their landlady as he got up from the computer chair.
“Yes, I need to leave early. Why?” their landlady stared at him.
“I need to leave early too. She needs to take her medications in the morning as well” he said in a low voice.
“I’m sure she’ll take her medication when she wakes up” was River’s reply.
“Tala’s drug of choice is in her cocktail”
“And what is it exactly?” she curiously asked.
“Rivotril” he answered.
“Anti-depressant?”
“No, I think it’s in the same family with Valium, only milder”
“You just said it’s milder than V’s so what’s the fuss about?” she curiously asked.
“Tala’s shrink warned me she abuses it and takes it like a freaking tic tac” he explained.
“Wow! I didn’t know we have a prescription junkie in the house” River laughed.
“Ri, I’m fucking serious!” Jake growled.
“Jake, chill! Why don’t you ask your cousin’s schedule?” River asked.
“We both know that Matt wakes up at noon” he replied. The bathroom door suddenly opened.
“My head’s spinning” Tala blurted out.
“Time for you to sleep” Jake said as he guided her back to the bed.
“If I’m sleeping on your bed then where the heck are you sleeping?” she groggily asked.
“On the floor. I have a futon” he answered.
“How chivalrous” River teased.
“He is” Tala replied, “Too bad he’s gay” she sighed as she snuggled the pillow.
“Is she sleeping or eating?” Matt asked pretty amused. Tala was half asleep while chewing her hotdog
“Matthew let her go back to bed” the maid told him.
