It was a long weekend. Tala tagged along with her younger sister and her friends at a Beach Club somewhere in Batangas. She wasn’t in a sociable mood so she just spent the whole afternoon reading a book in her hotel room. Her phone rang, it was her sister.
“Are you still glued to that book?” her sister asked.
“I just woke up from a nap” she lied. She was still clutching it like her life depended on it.
“Haul your a$$ here it’s dinner already”
“Okay” she hang up and got out of the bed. She walked towards the closet and grabbed the first thing got her hands into. It was her sister’s dress; it was one among the clothes she was being forced to wear on that trip. After she got ready she headed to the lobby then to the restaurant. She scanned the room for where her sister and her friends were seated. She saw somebody familiar. Her heart pounded when she realized it was Jacob. It has been two months since the last time they spoken. He was with a girl who was obviously smitten over him. Unfortunately their table was across her sister’s. She didn’t know how she managed to how to drag herself to the table
“Are you okay?” her sister asked.
“Yes” she smiled as she took her seat. She grabbed the menu and pretended to read it. Jake glanced towards her direction and she hid behind the menu.
“Looks like Chelsea snatched herself a Greek God” one of her sister’s friend gossiped.
“Chelsea’s your friend, right Ate?” her sister asked.
“Chelsea Sy?” she asked.
“Yes”
“Was” she corrected. She was one of the girls who tormented her in College.
“Say hi to her so we can meet her flavour of the month” her sister giggled.
“Fine where are they seated?” she asked as she closed the menu. She knew they won’t stop pestering her until she does what she’s been asked to.
“Across us” her sister whispered. She looked across their table. Chelsea’s date was Jacob. Jacob caught her staring at them so she quickly away.
“Chelsea looks busy with her date, let’s not bother them” she said as she got her phone from her pocket. She started texting River.
“You’re such a buzz kill” her sister told her.

Tala wanted to kill her sister’s best friend. They bumped into Chelsea at the lobby and the imbecile greeted her.
“Mallory?” Chelsea recognized her. Tala wanted to evaporate into thin air. Jake was staring at her.
“Hi Chelsea” she faked a smile.
“How are you?” Chelsea asked.
