Tala was silent the whole time the doctor was talking to her.
“Well that’s all I needed to hear. Thanks” she said as she stood up. The doctor wanted to say something else but she left the room. “Let’s go” she told Theo whose nose was buried under a magazine.
“What did the doctor say?” he said as he got up.
“Well the odds are in my favor” she joked trying to remember if she was quoting a book or not. She handed the professional fee to the medical secretary and they left the office.
“So?” he gave her a look. She looked at her watch.
“Let’s have dinner, my treat” she smiled at him.
“Is this just a dinner or a date?” he teased.
“Well I’m not dressed to kill so can we just say it’s just a dinner?” she joked back as they walked along the corridor.
“Well you always look beautiful to me” he smiled.
“I don’t handle compliments that well” she had to be honest.
“I know” he laughed.
“How do normal people respond to that anyway? Am I supposed to say thank you? I’ll sound conceited” she laughed.
==========================================================================
Tala opened the main door. She could hear River, Matt and Jake talking seriously in the living room. They were seated at the sofa.
“House meeting?” she joked.
“Did you eat already?” River looked at her as she was walked towards their direction.
“I had dinner with Theo” she answered.
“You’re still hanging out with that jerk?” Matt gave her a look. She ignored him.
“Hi” she greeted Jake.
“Hi…” he greeted back unsure of what will happen next.
“I’m not mad at you anymore” she hugged him tight. He hugged her back then kissed her on her cheeks.
“I missed you” he told her.
“Me too” she smiled as she sat beside him.
“Well you seem to be in a very good mood” was their landlady’s comment.
“Perhaps” was Tala’s reply.
“So you had a date with Theo?” Jake curiously asked.
“Just dinner” she corrected.
“Hypothetically if Jake asks you out on a date will you go out with him?” Matt asked.
“No” was her quick reply.
“Ouch!” Matt laughed as he looked at Jake.
“Why not?” River curiously asked.
“Because he doesn’t like me that way” she laughed.
“What if I do?” Jake looked at her.
“Don’t be silly!” she slapped him on his shoulder.
