Chapter 37

I was waiting at home with my nine-month-old and my twenty-five month old. Alfie had recently taken his first steps and he's already said his first few words, but that was something Daniel was used to be missing. 

Louis knew exactly what we were waiting for, but Alfie didn't. Alfie was just bouncing around in my arms as Louis stared out the window. 

That's when we saw a car pull up to the driveway, both Bamm-Bamm and Lucy rushed over to the door. Both of the dogs were excited as my two sons, maybe even more. 

That's when I saw him walk out onto the pathway and Lucy went berzerk barking at the door. Then the door opened and Lucy jumped onto Daniel and Daniel pet both Lucy and Bamm-Bamm before they finally let me and the boys be with Daniel.

Daniel went up to Louis first and kissed him on the forehead before lifting him up and holding him tightly, "I love you, Louis! Daddy's gonna stay for a very long time this time!" 

"I love you too, Daddy!" Louis cheered and I saw Daniel tear up.

"Stop growing, you're such a big boy!" Daniel exclaimed wiping his eyes and then kissing his son on the forehead once more, "Two and a month already..." 

Then he turned to Alfie to which he kissed multiple times on his cheek and head, "Now you, Alfie. I know you won't know me at all, especially since I've been gone a month before your birth. But I just want you to know this is your father, and I'm always going to be here for you, even though it doesn't seem like it." 

That's when Daniel had to leave the room before even saying hi to me. Louis chased after him but came back to me just a few minutes later before telling me that his father is crying. I knew Daniel was crying, he just never liked to show it he'd always cover his face and run off somewhere where no one could see him crying. 

I went over towards the dining room with the two other boys and then I sat down next to Daniel where he looked up at me and quickly wiped up the tears.

"They've both grown up too much," Daniel's voice was still breaking a little, "I've just missed too much. I love you, Emma." 

"I love you too Daniel," I spoke and we shared a long kiss and then Louis began jumping on Daniel, so he picked him up and bounced him on his lap as he did when Louis was just a few months old. 

"Louis, Alfie, how about we go watch some Mickey Mouse?" Daniel suggested and Louis nodded taking his father's hand and running into the playroom with him as he turned on the TV and Mickey Mouse appeared on the screen as it always did. 

Alfie managed to stumble his way onto the couch beside his brother and Daniel. Daniel picked Alfie up and put him on his lap along with Louis. I watched as all the boys intensely watched and I quickly took a picture and posted it on Instagram.

@seaveydaniel: That's true, we're gonna go put the boys to bed and then smash

Both Daniel and I put our phones down and then Daniel carried both of the boys into their room. He put Alfie down in his crib and then he put Louis down in his own crib. He sang to the both of them lightly and then I watched as he just stood in their rooms for a little while longer. 

I recorded him singing to both of the boys, but my favorite moment was when Louis told his father good night and I love you. Daniel didn't know I was standing at the door, so I snuck my way back into our room where I posted one more picture.

I put my phone down once more and that's when Daniel came into the room sharing a long kiss with me. 

"You don't know how long I've been waiting to do this," Daniel smirked. 

"Oh I do loverboy," I replied kissing him as he just began ripping his clothes off, obviously we had both waited really long for this moment, "Seavey number three is officially in the making." 

"And this time I'll finally be here for everything," Daniel grinned, I just nodded my head and smiled at him, but deep down inside I knew Daniel would never fully be there. 

Daniel would always be touring, always away, with the success of Why Don't We, I knew in my world the only people who would permanently always be there would be our children, but once they grew up in some ways they would leave me too. 

I couldn't let my thoughts control how the rest of the night went through, so I focused on other things and was able to give Daniel a night that we would both remember forever.
