The day I brought home Louis to my apartment was life-changing, but once it became night time everything was a little different. He had his own room since I had a two bedroom apartment, and I didn't mind that Bamm-Bamm enjoyed running around since he was too small to jump up to the crib and spook Louis.
Daniel and I both stood above the crib staring at our beautiful sleeping son, who just looked so peaceful like there was nothing to worry about in life. That's when Daniel turned to me with a large frown on my face after looking at Louis.
"What's wrong?" I questioned.
"You're not gonna like what I have to tell you," Daniel hesitated scratching the back of his neck looking back down at his newborn son.
"What is it?" I asked, "Remember I'm your wife, you can tell me anything."
"We're going on tour, first thing tomorrow morning. I'll be gone for a good seven months," Daniel answered trying to avoid my gaze, but I looked him right in the eye.
"I'll help you pack Daniel," I replied, I didn't know how to respond to that because stopping him from leaving him would just be selfish, proving to his fans that he can go on tour after Louis' birth would just prove how dedicated he was to his band. I couldn't stop him from proving dedication.
"Wait... what?" Daniel asked.
"I have Logan and Jake to help me," I answered, "I'll help you pack. I'm gonna come to all your concerts in LA though."
"Oh okay, thank you," Daniel told me, "Are you gonna come over with Louis to help me pack? The boys haven't even met him yet."
"Of course, but we're gonna have to make a makeshift crib when we're there," I answered, "And I want no yelling."
"Deal," Daniel replied getting onto his phone and then waiting a few minutes before getting me in the car with Louis.
I held on tightly to Louis in the car as Daniel drove carefully, and fully aware. When we got into the Why Don't We house we rang the doorbell while I was vlogging everything and we saw all the boys at the door.
"Sit!" I commanded like dogs and all the boys went towards the couch and sat while I held Louis in my arms and Daniel held the camera in the others.
"Jonah can hold him first and then we go down to Zach," Daniel mentioned, "Be careful though, don't drop him, and yeah meet Louis Jack Seavey."
"Now we're at the Why Don't We house showcasing Louis to all the boys since I just found out Daniels's leaving for seven months!" I exclaimed, "And yes this will be a hardship Fox News that I'm showcasing on my channel."
I paid close attention to each one of the boys as they handled my son, the only boy that got me a little nervous when they picked him up was Zach, but he was pretty gentle. I picked up Louis and put him in the makeshift crib that the boys made and I sat down with all the boys.
"So... Daniel told you..." Jack trailed off.
"Yes... Daniel told me," I took a deep breath, I was trying to showcase my happiness, but I knew once all the boys left I'd be crumbling down.
"You aren't mad?" Zach questioned me and Daniel shot him a look.
"Now, I'm not. I understand that he has to do it for the fans," I replied sighing that's when I knew that I couldn't help it, but let everything passive aggressively come out, "I mean the day after your son is born you'd leave for seven months also, wouldn't you Zach? I mean it wouldn't matter to your wife, and you assume that she can just take care of a baby boy alone without any help, so she feels like a single mom, that's just being ditched by what is legally called her husband. That's not all though, what if your wife is constantly worried that another woman will take all your affections and you'll just forget about your wife and son!"
"Emma I—"
"No, I'm fine Daniel! I just have to get some fresh air!" I interrupted storming out of the room.
I didn't know why everything came out like that, it was like I couldn't stop myself, but all of it was true as much as I wanted to look on the bright side of things I had to get everything out, but I just found myself standing on top of the hill that overlooked LA.
Daniel would be leaving for seven months, I'd be raising our kid technically alone. It was worse than Daniel not living with me because I knew I wouldn't even be able to see him a little after they came back also. A little part of me just wanted to Daniel to stay, but I knew he always had to go, he was a musician that's what they do, especially if in a boy band.
That's when I felt a tap on my shoulder and when I turned around I saw Jack who was just patting my shoulder.
"Are you okay?" Jack asked, "That was a bit of a scene back there. Daniel wanted to come outside to talk to you, but he had to like do something with Louis since he started crying the moment you left. You can talk to me about things though."
"I'm fine, I just needed to get that off my chest. I'm alright with him leaving, I am," I answered faking a smile, I was just lying to myself. I was scared, I didn't want Daniel to go.
"Alright. I'll leave you alone, come back inside in a few though. Daniel's worried he screwed up," Jack told me leaving quickly as I just stared at the moon praying that I'd be able to handle everything all by myself.
Then I went inside and kissed Daniel and rocked Louis to sleep since he was crying probably because of all the noise and my outburst, but he went to sleep and that's when Daniel brought me to his room to pack as the boys watched our son.
"By morning, I meant at like three in the morning we're leaving," Daniel added, which was literally in just a few hours.
"This is goodbye for seven months then, I'll see you in seven months Danny. Do you want to bring these shoes, or not?" I changed the subject.
"You don't care?" Daniel questioned.
"Of course I care, I want you to stay, but I know that can't happen. Just pack your things and leave," I answered snapping a little.
"I don't want to leave when you're mad at me," Daniel insisted, "I'm really sorry. I can ask to postpone the—"
"Don't Daniel," I interrupted, "I just want you to remember that no matter what girl you see that there's always your wife and son waiting at home for you."
"Is that what you're worried about?" Daniel questioned, "I love you."
"I love you too, but I'm just worried, you're famous anything could happen," I answered.
"You're famous also, anything could happen," Daniel replied.
"Yeah, but that's different. You're a musical genius that's a great singer and is attractive," I told him, "I'm just your wife."
"My loving, beautiful, caring, kind, intelligent, adorable, talented wife," Daniel corrected me kissing me and I kissed him back, "I'm gonna miss you so much."
"Facetime every night?" I asked and Daniel nodded his head, "I'm going to miss you a lot more than you realize."
