Three months later I began to realize that history was repeating itself, but in my current situation, it didn't matter at this point in time. Choosing between forgiving Daniel or just moving on was not important, what was important was thinking of a name for the beautiful baby girl I had given birth to on the now meaningful date of February 16th.
Daniel was making his way to the hospital and I was just laying down in bed with the baby girl with her father's eyes. I couldn't help, but just wonder what her life could possibly be like, along with her two brothers.
Then there was the moment when the door opened and there I saw Daniel, he walked over towards the baby and I and I let him hold our girl. As soon as he held her he handed her back to me and simply just walked away.
A few minutes later he walked back into the room, his eyes puffy and red. He smiled at me before saying, "Does she have a name?"
"Mila," I decided, "Mila Seavey."
"You're keeping my last name?" Daniel asked.
"It's only logical, Louis, Alfie and I are Seavey's, why shouldn't she be one," I answered and I saw a smile pop up on Daniel's face.
I thought about this moment right after it happened, what would things have been like if we never got the divorce? Why did we have to make the decision to marry so early? Would the air feel different? There was something with the birth of Mila that was different than the other two, besides gender, it just felt as if things were not all right.
