Saturday. Finally, it was break day.
The following week had been hectic for all of you. Everyone was tired, drained for good and wanted free time to gain energy for the next week. The Hamada brothers - mostly Tadashi - thought it would be nice to hang out in the cafe for rest day. Cass wouldn't mind, as long as everyone was having fun and could finally be away from the loads of homework and cramming.
Honey Lemon suggested to bring Maria and Jack. Everyone agreed, yet you didn't say anything about it. As much as you loathed Maria, as long as Jack was there to distract her from clinging to Tadashi, everything was fine.
The chattering continued. The gang had their own little world, having a small group to talk to about certain topics, laughing and commenting on each other's thoughts.
You played around with your food. You didn't mind being quiet, it was your nature since you were young.Honey Lemon turned to you and smiled. "I didn't know you lived across the street, (Y/n)! That must be convenient to visit the cafe every now and then, huh?"
Blinking, your eyes flicker to the blubbly blonde and you silently nod, glancing over your shoulder to look back at your home. The lights were closed and you knew your mother was taking her daily naps at this time of the day, so you didn't need to worry about her.
Looking back at your plate, you notice Maria stare at you with squinted eyes. She seemed suspicious of you and was keeping a close eye on your movements.
You inwardly scoff at her ridiculous antics. The feeling was mutual, after all.
You saw as Jack tapped her shoulder and began talking about something, watching her go all flustered and squirmy. Your eyes roam around the people you were seated with and they land on one person none other than the older Hamada. He was talking about something your mind couldn't emphasize, but his eyes were gleaming with happiness. He had this wide smile that could make any girl fall for him within a second. His soft features, structure, rosy cheeks, pink plump lips - oh goD he wasn't even wearing his cap today.
Your eyes droop down for a second. Still staring at Tadashi, you let out a small dreamy sigh, your cheek leaning over on your hand. With the fork twirling between your fingers, you almost visibly smiled around everyone - that was until Hiro flicked a piece of his cereal to your face.
As it bounced off your nose, you whip your head to your left and saw him look at with you with a glare.
"What was that for?" You hiss, glaring back at him. Hiro's face was scrunched up, his eyebrows furrowed in annoyance as he squinted his eyes further at you.
"Stop staring at my brother." He whispered in disgust. "You were practically drooling over him."
"I was not!" You say loudly, flicking a piece of cake to his head. It landed on his hair and Hiro shook his head to take it off.
"What was that for?!" He groaned as he ruffled his hair. It remained there for a moment, and as his fingers shuffled to find it, he accidentally wiped it more on his hair.
"Well, you're being annoying." You retort, sticking your tongue out to him when he shot you an annoyed look. It made you amused, yet you were still pissed at the fact that he interrupted your daydreaming.
"As if you aren't!"
"I'm not!"
"You are!"
