What was this?
You loomed over the box that you had received ever-so-randomly at your front door. The box seemed a little old from how soft the carton felt under your fingers. You hesitated upon reaching out to pluck off the tape that was not-so-neatly placed on top. It was odd to see that you had received mail all of a sudden. You weren't expecting anything from today aside from your AoT merch that was supposed to come next week.
Was it a good idea to open it?
"Screw it.." You hiss and rip the tape off, breaking the folds of the box. Before you could even process what was inside, you let out a shriek and grab the contents back to your room. You ignored your mother's screams of worry and immediately shut the door as you burst into tears.
"D-Daisuke!" You croak out in happiness, pressing him further to your chest. Your tired knees gave in and you plop down near your door before letting out your soft sniffles. Sure, you were ugly crying, but it wasn't bothering you. You were too happy to know that Daisuke was back.
"Daisuke?" You repeat in a much softer voice, your throat a little stuffy. Glancing down at your robot companion, your fingers lightly brush across his metal head before you press on the button near his screen to turn it on. To your not-so-surprise, he flashed awake with a loud gasp.
"AAAAAAAAHHHH!!!" He screeched as loud as he could. Before he could swing his arms around, he noticed you staring down at him with welled up eyes and a red runny nose. "Wait.. (Y/n)? Why are you crying..?"
"You DUMBASS!" You scream, hugging him closer to your chest. The action made him wiggle uncomfortably in your arms. He wasn't a fan of hugsㅡ not when came from you, anyways.
"Y - You're choking me..!" The robot wheezed out. You ignored how you were 'suffocating' him when in reality he didn't have any lungs to begin with.
"What happened?" You look down at your friend once again, still giddy at how he ended up back to you after all that worrying. "Do you remember anything?"
"Erm.. could you let me go first?"
"No."
Daisuke gave a sigh. "Fine. All I remember was that.. I got electrocuted by someone. I couldn't see who since they targeted me from behind, but all that I saw was your plant and flashes of white."
"My plant?" You say outloud, your eyebrows raising. Lowering your voice, you slowly let go of your robot and look down at the floor. "So that's why it was burnt.."
Quietly, you frown. Who could have done such a brutal thing to take your robot away from you? Let alone shock the poor thing.
Right, you had taken a liking to Daisuke now that you realized how important he was to you.
Huffing in annoyance at the new profound feelings of leveling up tolerance that you had for your robot, your mind wandered off to Hiro.
The scene replayed in your head at how he was in such a hurry to get out of the hallway. The box that he carefully held in his arms was something that made you suspicious, let alone the direction that he came from. Could he be the one that took your bot?
"(Y/n)?"
You look up at your robot with blank eyes and blink at him. He was carefully wiping your tears away with a tissue that he got from your nightstand, looking at you with a worried expression. A minute of silence had passed by before you gave him a faint smile that made him flustered. "I'm just glad you're okay, Daisuke."

Next morning had gone smoothly than expected. Everyone was glad to know that Daisuke was alright. But they all wondered how he had gotten lost. No one seemed to know where he was the day before, so you didn't have much evidence. It also sucked how you didn't install any CCTV cameras inside your lab. Which was what you were doing right now.
