Beep Beep.

"Wow, you were such a good girl today (Mother's name)! You finished all the tests like you said you would!" Inna giggled happily and bended down to caress my cheek. I smile slightly and lean to her warm touch. Her affection meant everything to me. I always needed her approval, and it felt nice when she acknowledged me.

Inna leaned back and put her hands from behind her, looking over her shoulder to signal some of her guards to take me off the capsule. Two of them - who wore very protective white armour - took me off with harsh pulls and thrusts. They started to drag me off back to my room, just as when I passed by a certain lab.

"Cass.." I mumble, my eyes shifting over to her cell. She looked exhausted. I didn't know what it felt to be tired. Inna told me that feelings were dangerous for me.

"Oi, get moving. We don't get paid just to watch you stand there." The guard on my left said in a gruff voice.

I didn't respond and continued to walk just as they requested, fiddling with the newly made scars that the current testing made. It felt numb. Surely my daily food would be filled with that healing syrup.

With a harsh shove, they trap me in the metal bed inside my personal cell.

How long has it been since I was here?

"Mommy..?"

"Oh honey, I'm not your mother." The tall woman with deep red hair spoke softly, bending down in front of me. She had this kind smile that made me blush.

She was pretty.

"I'm Inna. From now on, I'm your guardian. Your mother gave you to us. Such a pity she didn't last long during the rampage." She giggled, watching me make a confused face.

From under the dark rainy night was an umbrella both protecting this pretty woman and I. Light was barely visible from the ruins of my once called home - one where I grew up for only a short while.

"She looks so young.." One of the men murmured from behind her. "At least 6 or so..."

"She looks around Miss Inna's daughter's age.." Came another mutter.

The woman continued to smile and held up her arms wide. Carefully, I walk towards her with teary eyes and snuggled up on her chest when she carried me up in her arms.

"Do you know your name sweetie?"

"(M-Mother's name)..."

"What a lovely name you've got there hun. Can I give you a nickname too?"

I silently nod and she giggled further. This Inna woman gently brushed some of the uneven hairs off my face and gently tied it back.

"I'll call you Raine."

"I'm Cass! What's your name?" Said a girl who was quite a few inches shorter than I was. She had big green emerald eyes and short light brown hair.
