Ella's P.O.V.
I glared at him, but my anger turned into fear. He gave me a confused look as if he was asking 'what's wrong?'. He must not have seen the others. But he should have smelt their scents. Then again the others have left. Damien must be too far away for Dustin to catch his scent. But I knew Damien to well. I knew he would be lurking around. Never leaving me too far for comfort."What are you doing here?" I ask Dustin nervously.
"I came to make sure you were alright. I heard your screaming and you falling before. I was worried." Dustin answers with a concern look.
"I'm fine. But your not going to be if you stay here." I whisper.
"Why?" Dustin whispers back.
"My brother is near by. If he sees you he'll know your a werewolf." I whisper.
"Oh how I wish he wasn't here." Dustin says in an angry voice.
I put my hand on his shoulder to calm him down. I wanted him to stay as much as he did. But we both have our packs. We both need to protect each other. Especially now.
"I know. But we need to keep safe. Remember." I whisper.
Dustin nods his head. Then we both hear something. Dustin takes a few steps back. We both turned our head towards the source of the noise. It was Damien. He saw Dustin. He glowered at Dustin. He didn't recognize him as a vampire. He knew Dustin was a werewolf.
"Ella! I'm coming." Damien yells as he runs towards us.
"No!" I yell back. I turn towards Dustin and glare at him. "I'll take this flea-bag down myself."
Damien stops running and lets me handle the situation. Dustin looked at me with fear. What was he afraid of? He's much stronger than I. I can't even pry myself out of his arms. I look straight into his magnificent green eyes. Fear is all I see. I give him a quick wink. He now understands.
Dustin's P.O.V.
"Yeah right, you weakling blood-sucker." I sneer.
It was all an act. Ella came up with it in just the knick of time. She knew that if she were to let her brother fight me I would surly lose. Or I would have killed him. Either way there would be a death. She knew that there would be no death if we were to fight. We would come up with something. How intelligent she is.
She starts to do a circling steps. I follow her lead. Our feet were in perfect sync. Stalker walk. Both kinds know similar attack moves. When her back is to her brother she lets a soft smile slip. That quickly changes though. She returns to her glare.
Soon she lets her step miss a beat. I take this chance to pounce. I miss. Instead she pounces on me. I easily throw her off. I bite my lip. I threw her with to much force. I approach her. She jumps up and runs. I smile and pursuit her.
I stop at the top of a large hill. I have been up here before. When I was younger. Towards the bottom was the river. I looked around. Ella was no where in sight. After a minute someone tackles me. Ella. We roll down the hill. I grab her in my arms. When we stop she is on top of me. We laugh. She pins my arms down against the grass.
"You're good." I whisper, fearing her brother may be near.
"Not bad yourself." She whispers with a hint of a laugh.
She was a truly good warrior. She had strength. She had stealth. She had the ability to appear weak but completely surprise her enemy. Now that I think of it, she has been doing this since we met. Constantly showing her intelligence and stealth. Not to mention her strength in combat. How come it comes down to her pining me down for me to realize this?
I had not let her pin me down. I had used less strength then usually. But if she wanted to, she could kill me. She may not be stronger than I, but her intelligence pays off for it. She is able to trick her foes. She is able to completely surprise them. As she has done to me.
She brings her head down a bit, still keeping my arms pinned to the ground, and she presses her lips softly against mine. I feel as if we aren't truly fighting, but hanging out again. But reality takes control. We hear Daimen's foot-steps at the top of the hill. She ends the kiss.
"Slit his throat Ella!" Yells Damien.
Ella then rolls her eyes a few times. Not in disrespect, as if she's trying to tell me something. Rolling. She loosens her grip on my arms. She starts to roll us. Now I get it. I roll us so I would be on top. I pin her arms down. She then mouths the words 'run' to me. I follow her instructions and run. Damien goes to pursuit me. But his foot-steps cease. I turn my head back slightly. He went to go check on Ella.
Ella's P.O.V.
I'm glad Dustin caught on to my silent signal. I'm glad he made it out of here. Oh how I wish I can go with him. Some where only the two of us could go. Just the two of us. Where wars don't exist. Where being the girlfriend to a werewolf and you being a vampire didn't matter.
Damien comes towards me. He leans down.
"You okay? You had him, what happened?" He asks.
"He was to powerful for me." I lie. Actually I loosened my grip to let him go so I could save his life because I love him.
"Come on. Let's go home. It's getting late. School tomorrow." Damien says. He helps me up and then we walk home.

After dinner I go up to my room. I sit on my window seat. I look out in to the night sky. Or at least try to through the tree right in front of my view of the night. There's a knock on the door. I tell the person to come in. It was my father. He sits on the edge of my bed. A smile on his face.
"I heard you fought your first werewolf today." He says happily.
"Yeah." I lied. I have fought Rob and his stupid friends a few times before. And I nearly had to fight Logan and Rachael.
"I'm so proud of you. My little girl. A fighter." He said proudly.
My family had no knowledge of my skills. Only I know. But I do believe Dustin might have figured it out today. But my family cannot know. To them, I am a weak child. I wish to keep it that way. If they knew of my strengths, they will put me in intense twenty four seven training. Also I would be part of the first line in battle. Facing Dustin. I know he will be first line as well. He's beta after all. He has to be strong enough for the first line.
"But I lost." I say questionably.
"But you fought hard." My father says proudly.
I nod. He comes over and gives me a hug. He kisses my head and he leaves. I get in my pajamas. I sit on my bed. I still had Dustin's hoodie (A/N The sweatshirt, jacket, and hoodie are all the same thing). I hide it under my pillow. But not for long. I end up taking it out and cuddling it.
I dream of what Dustin and I could do to get away from the war. Reasoning with our packs. No. Telling them of our love. No. The only option I can think of that won't make things worse is us running away like Damien said.
Run away? Should we? Well the two of us are skilled hunters, food wouldn't be a problem. Shelter, we could make one or find one. What to tell our packs? That we are off to do special training for the war. They would believe that. By the time they realize we were lying the war might be over. Who knows. But I do know, I don't want to lose Dustin. Our days together are numbered.
