I'm so sad! This story is coming to an end! There are only a few chapters that I plan on making. I might add more. Depending what I need to add and what I want to add. I hope that you really enjoy this book. I might not update it for a while though. I really need to update my other book as well. Plus finales are coming up soon. And summer. Also when I start to go over my chapters to fix things I might add names to the chapters. Like for chapter 1-The begging and for the chapter where she meets Dustin-Run ins with a were. This chapter would probably be something like Preparation. Tell me if you have any ideas for chapter names. I would love to here them. I love feed back from readers. Except for bad feed back. Ella's P.O.V.
I was excited about our escape. But I was also afraid. I feel as if I am betraying my pack. Then again, I am just by keeping contact with Dustin. Let alone loving him. But it doesn't feel right. Leaving them. But I don't want Dustin to die. I know he will not run away without me. I know the only way to protect him as well is for the two of us to run away.
I walk up to my father. He was sitting in the den. He sat on the couch. I was scarred. I was frightened that he would send someone with me or refuse.
"Did you want something Ella?" He asks me looking up from his book.
I take a deep breathe. I look him right in the eyes. "I want to go on a survival training in the woods. To prepare me for the upcoming attack against those." The next line chokes me up for I know it was not true. "Flea-bag, idiot werewolves."
My dad laughs thinking I was joking. I keep my emotionless expression. He stops laughing and looks at me. "Are you serious." He finally asks.
"Yes." I say sternly.
"Fine. Damien shall accompany you." My father says.
"No." I shout angrily.
"What?" My father says. He stood up and was looking down at me with his intense amber eyes.
As pack leader, my father always got what he wanted. If he didn't that would be disobeying the leader, and the king. What he says goes. So when I had said 'no', I had defied the king.
"I said no. I want to go alone. This is my training, not Damien's." I take all my anger out on him. "I'm not a weakling. I am strong. And you don't see that. You don't let me do anything. I have just gotten my first chance of freedom here. It took long enough for me to tell you I'm not a child anymore. I can handle myself. I don't need a babysitter. Why can't you just see that?"
"Because I want to protect you." He says in a soft voice.
"From what? I can protect myself from a lot things." I say angrily.
"You wouldn't understand." He says annoyed.
"No, what I don't understand is why my father doesn't trust me." I yell turning away.
"Ella." He says turning me to face him. "I do trust you."
"Prove it." I say angrily.
"How can I?" He asks solemnly.
"Let me go on the training alone. No one following me or with me." I answer.
He lets out a sigh. "Alright. You may go tomorrow."
I smile and hug my father. I thanked him for allowing me to go.
I then walked up stairs to my bedroom. I grab a backpack from my closet. I fill it with two sets of day clothes (I can sleep in them as well), sunglasses, a lot of tubes of sunscreen, a bottle of perfume (to mask my vampire scent), a jacket (even though it's June it can get pretty cold at night), medical kit, and my old pocket knife. I had gotten my pocket knife from Damien. I never use it but you never know when you'll need a pocket knife. I also throw in an empty hunting bag. It'll be easier to bring the kills that way instead of carrying them.
I put on my p.j.s and head to bed. I put the backpack near my bed. Before I fell a sleep I text Dustin to see if he was able to go as well. I had to know if he was.
Dustin's P.O.V.
I went back to my pack house. I knew my brother would allow me to go. I am strong and I can protect myself on my "survival training". He was sitting in the command room. The command room is where all the pack officials (such as myself) gather for meetings.
"Hey Brenden." I say. I knew this was a good start.
"Hello." He replies not looking away from the smart board.
"What are you doing?" I asked as if I didn't know.
"Looking at attack strategies like always. Why? Do you have a plan to help defeat those bloody demons."(A/N: When a character says bloody, just to clarify, it only means that they are saying the thing with hatred. Also it means putting emphasis on something as well. I know there are other meanings to.)
I choked up at this. I knew I couldn't do anything about his words. If I did, suspicion would rise.
"I was wondering, if I could go on a little survival training? You know to prepare for the attack." I ask.
"No."
"Thanks I'll be going-. Did you say no?" I ask.
"Yes."
"Okay. For a second it sounded like you said no." I say relieved.
"No. Dustin the answer is no." Brenden says turning to face me.
"But why?" I ask.
"Because you are needed here."
"No I'm not."
"Yes. You need to help train the others here." He says turning back to the smart board.
"Brenden." I say standing in front of him. "I have never asked for anything like this in my life. I think it's really important that I go on this mission." I say solemnly.
"You're really serious. Is it that important?" He asks.
"You don't know how important it is to me." I solemnly say.
"Well, I guess we could get Rachael to help with training. I guess you can go." Brenden answers.
"Thank you. Thank you. I'll be leaving tomorrow." I say with that I run up to my room.
After I finish packing my backpack of some clothes, sunscreen(in case Ella needs more), medicine, a jacket, a blanket, a few boxes of matches, and a bottle of colon (to mask my werewolf scent).
I sat on my bed. I saw I had a text on my phone. It was from Ella.
To Dustin: Are you going to?
To Ella: Yes.
To Dustin: Alright. Meet in the clearing tomorrow morning. But hide somewhere in case my family says good-bye there. Mask your scent. I'll mask mine. I'll text you when the cost is clear. But I'll try to leave early.
To Ella: Got it. If we're gonna be getting up early we better get to bed.
To Dustin: Yeah. Goodnight. Love you.
I smiled.
To Ella: Love you too.
