'Cause right now could last forever,
As long as I'm with you •

"I'm just resting my eyes, don't worry. I can feel you judging." Jack mumbled. We were cuddling, still naked, wrapped in my sheets; sticky yet sweet.

"Yeah yeah, I've heard that one before." I teased him, squeezing into his embrace. "I'm just excited about dinner, sorry."

"I know, that's why I want to look pretty and rested." He grinned, his eyes still closed.

"You're too funny for this world, you know?" I sarcastically said.

"I do. Luckily, you're not from this world." Nice save, I thought to myself.

"Luckily." I replied, kissing his lips.

Jack played cool all day but when we were standing on the doorstep of my grandparents's house, his palms started sweating. I knew he was nervous.

"Relax, they'll love you. I promise." I said. He looked at me with that sour grin plastered all over his face and gulped. "Just breathe... and trust me."

My grandma opened the door, screaming at my face, I almost fainted I swear.

"There he is! Ed! Get your senile ass over here!" I heard her yell. She always called grandpa weird names, it's one of their things.

"Oh and you brought a boyfriend, am I right?" She was so thrilled it scared me. I was right about them liking him though.

"Hey grammy." She pulled me into a hug and then grandpa came to the door.

"What's your name sweetie?" Grandma asked Jack. My mom then introduced him as grandpa only offered me a hand to shake. I believe he said that this pansy stuff is too weak for us men. I laughed hysterically inside.

"This is Jack. Alex is rooming with him at the dorm." My mom said and I hoped gran would respect Jack's personal space but of course she did no such thing. She squeezed him into a big hug instead.

"Gran." I said discretely and gave her the look.

"Oh stop, he's practically family now. It's so nice to meet you Jacky, I'm Elaine but you can call me gran." She said to him, completely ignoring my request to let him breathe. I would've expected that he'd be scared until now but he was actually enjoying himself.

"You got yourself a deal, gran. And it's very nice to meet you as well." Jack replied and winked at me.

"This is Edward." Gran introduced grandpa. He stuck his hand out and smiled at Jack.

"Nice to meet you, boy. I prefer being called Ed." He shook Jack's hand.

"Alright, enough with the love fest, can we go inside?" I said. I wasn't really upset, it's just that my grandparents need a little push from time to time. If I said nothing, we'd probably just stand there, talking.

"Oh, of course honey! You must be hungry. Come on, the table is already set." Gran said and closed the door after us when we stepped in. I missed the smell of this house, it was like walking into an antique shop. I absolutely love it.

"You have such a lovely house Miss..." Jack started but gran gave him that look with her eyebrow raised. "Uhm, gran." He corrected himself which resulted in her smiling.

"Thank you Jack. Come on, sit down, we don't want for the food to get cold." She again said. I just grinned at her and glanced at Jack; still smiling, check.

We finished dinner and it was delicious. I helped with the dishes and Jack wanted to as well, but gran wouldn't let him. I missed this family stuff and at the dorm I was too busy with everything that's been going on, including school work. I haven't had a properly home cooked meal for so long; I mean the restaurants are fine but sometimes you just crave for that super meal prepared in your kitchen. Gran and grandpa were asking Jack about his family and the place he grew up in, we were talking about college and how we met. My mom had to leave right when gran served her signature apple pie; some urgent work thing, but me and Jack stayed there until 9pm. I actually wanted to show Jack around the neighborhood and take him to all my favorite spots but we were so full of food and kind of tired. Besides, it was late and I saw my pretty boyfriend yawn, so I decided it's best we call it a night. There was nothing better than looking forward to cuddling each other to sleep again, it was my new favorite thing to do.

At 11pm we were already like two old farts, cuddled up, spooning under the soft duvet and a blanket. I was the big spoon this time, which was the obvious sign that Jack is 110% relaxed, calm and also a bit drained. I loved every second of it.

"You asleep?" He whispered.

"No." I quietly answered.

"I wanted to say thank you and that I had the best time today. Your family is absolutely perfect." He thanked me and I saw it coming because that's just what he's like, he appreciates.

"Oh babe, anytime. They loved you even more, I'm so glad, you have no idea." I replied. I squeezed him tighter and he took me by the hand that was over him, intertwining our fingers.

"You are by far the best thing that ever happened to me. I really do love you Alex." He said, clear as a day.

"I know, I never had a single doubt... and I love you too." I replied.

"Good night." He then added.

"Good night." Just seconds later, he drifted to sleep and I quickly joined him. The next day was planned and I couldn't wait for it to start.

I heard a knock on the door when I opened my eyes. I needed to go to the bathroom, so I checked the clock and it was already 11.

"Yeah?" I asked when I quietly opened the door.

"Breakfast is on the table, I have to go help Libby with something but I'll be back in an hour or two and then maybe we could take Jack to town, get lunch, show him around?" My mom suggested. It was a wonderful idea and I was happy that she's so considerate.

"Sure." I said.

"Unless you two have something else planned..." She added.

"Oh no, don't be ridiculous. We came to visit you. I came to visit you." I said and made sure to really point out the I. "Besides, we'll have all the time in the world back at the dorm, so don't worry."

"Alrighty. Now go before the food gets cold, I made bacon." She smiled and headed out after I nodded.

Jack was sleeping peacefully which was no secret to me, he did look like a drunk little angel though; in my white sheets with the duvet up to his chest, arms and legs spread all over the bed.

"Wake up." I said when I took a seat down next to him, pressing a kiss on his lips. "I've got bacon." I added and ticked his nose.

"I'm awake boss." He mumbled and scratched his head, diving face first into my pillow.

"Come on, it's almost noon." I said and moved the hair from his face when he rolled over to his back. His brown eyes looked at me and his mouth curved into a tiny smile.

God, I'm so in love with him, even I don't fully grasp the concept of it.
