I wanna fall so in love with you,
With you and no one else •I don't remember the last time I've had such a fun day. Mom took us to the city, we had lunch at my favorite restaurant and she bought us all some yummy ice cream, which we ate on the blanket, picnicking on the soft grass at the local park. We laughed and we talked, a smile never left Jack's face and he subtly whispered a thank you to me every 10 minutes. It gave me an idea, maybe I could ask his mom to help me organize a fun day one weekend and we'd enjoy it just as much. Neither of us checked our phones and my mom insisted on giving us a ride back. I didn't protest, because I know how much she wanted to spend a little extra time with us.
I promised my grandparents we'd be back for Christmas and the winter break and gran gave us the whole apple pie and the peach cobbler to go, so we'd have something sweet back at the dorm. I had the best weekend and so did Jack. After we arrived to our room, we unpacked everything and then had some quick coffee, before taking a shower together. It was the sloppiest shower I've had so far, but looking at Jack all wet and soapy, standing next to me, smiling... it wasn't really helping me focus on myself there.
When shower time was over, we were cuddling in my bed, watching Batman when I heard a knock on the door."Who could that be? It's kinda late." He asked. He had a point, it was already 9:30pm.
"Probably one of the guys, I'll get it." I got out of bed and dragged myself to the door. When I opened it I was really surprised. Really.
"Oh, Mrs. Barakat... hi. Come in." I opened the door and invited her in.
"Hi, thank you Alex." She smiled at me politely, stepping inside. Jack was already sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Hi baby." She said and went over to hug him. "I'm sorry about your father." She whispered.
"Don't worry about it, it's not your fault he's an asshole." Jack calmly said.
"There was just nothing I could do. He saw the video and it was a done deal... you know what he's like when he gets angry." She explained.
"Yeah yeah. Is everything okay, you never go out on Sunday evenings." Jack asked. I poured some water in our electric kettle and pulled out three mugs.
"Tea?" I asked them both.
"Oh, sure honey, that would be great." She replied. "I came by yesterday but they told me you were gone for the weekend."
"Sorry, I texted you, didn't you get my message?" He asked and she shook her head. "Me and Alex went to visit his mom."
"Oh, how nice. Did you have a nice time?" She asked.
"Yeah, I met his grandparents and all, it was fun." Jack smiled.
"They loved him by the way and would you maybe like some peach cobbler or some apple pie?" I politely asked, grinning.
"Absolutely. Thank you Alex." She said.
"So what did you need?" Jack focused back on the subject.
"Oh, nothing really, just wanted to see how you're doing and to apologize for your dad's behavior." She sympathized.
"Please don't. I won't let you apologize for his mistakes. You didn't do anything wrong." Jack huffed.
