Hour Glass
By: Yeppeun Magus

Time is a powerful thing that you can't change.
Everything goes on even if your time has been chained.
Seasons change, from winter to spring.
Leaves fall from trees then blooms a new beginning
just like how people in this world come and go
together with the waves today and tomorrow gone like snow.

Chapter 1

When the world is quiet and my mind is at peace, I know that I had everything I wanted in my life no matter how simple it is.

The sun is about to shine giving the world a light bluish glow, I was up so early. It's only 5 in the morning but I can feel my body surging with energy. My ears were filled with the sound of chirping birds humming their own melody and creatures singing their own song. I can feel the cold breeze on my skin as I walk towards our front porch with a cup of coffee in my hand. I wrap my fingers around the mug for warmth as I inhaled the cold morning air deeply.

I enjoy moments like this, when the earth is quiet and everything seems so calm and serene. For a moment you forget how cruel the world has become, for a moment you once again witness the beauty that was lost through time.

"Lost in your thoughts again?"

I was startled by the voice I heard but a smile formed at the corner of my lips as soon as I had a glimpse of him.

"Good morning, Lauren."

He greeted me while walking towards me with his heartwarming smile causing his eyes to chisel. God knows how much I love this guy.

"Good morning, Casper what are you doing so early in my front porch?"

I asked him with my right brow arched giving him a playful look. He was still smiling as he went closer, his scent lingered in my nose, a faint scent of coffee and honey bread.

"Because I miss you."

It's my turn to smile with my head leaning on the right as I look at him quizzically.

"You got to be kidding me. We just met last night sir."

He crinkled his nose as he cups my face with his warm hands.

"And that was like 9 hours and 30 minutes ago."

My laughter filled the calm morning as I playfully punch his chest then spreading my arms to give him a hug which he gladly accepted.

Casper has been my boyfriend for four long years and our relationship had gone through a lot of hardships. It's not perfect like every teenage girl dreamed of but it was a relationship filled with genuine love and respect. We both watch the world brighten up and I know that our hearts beat in one rhythm.

We were both silent, our hearts listening and watching the street with content. Oh, how I treasure moments like this, I hope I can keep it with me forever. I look at Casper's smiling face as he takes a sip from the coffee I made. I felt a sudden short pang of pain in me with the thought that moments like this, no matter how beautiful, come and go. And whether I like it or not I can't keep this moment forever.

I'm Lauren Lopez born in the year 1983 and this is my story.
