Chapter 26

∞L A U R E N∞

The room was dark and silent, after a long and stressful day we all decided to stay in one room for the night. We didn't dare to get in to the VIP room again because who knows? Jenia might be just around the corner. There are two king sized bed in this room. One was occupied by Mhyco and Frost then the second one was occupied by Margaret and I. Frost and Mhyco told Cloud that it's perfectly fine for all three of them to sleep in one bed since it's spacious but Cloud being stubborn insisted to sleep on the couch.

It's already three in the morning but I can't sleep. My eyes are heavy and I could feel my body tired of all the chase and energy draining events but I just can't sleep! I slowly got up and picked my blanket up. A smile form on my lips as I wrap the blanket around Cloud making him move a little bit but then falling back into a deep slumber.

My eyes were fixed on the city lights reflecting on the glass door from the balcony and I know that no matter how much I force myself to sleep I just can't, so I decided to step out, in the room's balcony for a little while to watch the busy street below and above. I was so lost at the moment that I almost scream when someone gave me tap on my shoulder.

"It's me, relax Lauren. "

Mhyco said as he join me in taking deep breaths. Goodness! This kid! I gave him a playful punch on his arm.

"You scared me, why are you still awake? Your body needs to rest Mhyco. "

He chuckled before exhaling creating a smoke in the air.

"How about you? Why are you still awake? "

I look at him for a moment as I try to search for an answer why am I still awake. I shrug my shoulders and place my elbows on the cold metal railings.

"I can't sleep. There are days that I just can't sleep."

I said with a sigh. He nod his head in agreement like he, too, experienced nights like mine.

"Thank you."

He said as he look at me, his eyes welling with tears.

"I did nothing tonight Mhyco, it was all Cloud's plan. "

He looked at me with disbelief before taking a glance on Cloud who's sleeping on the couch. He looked at me once more trying to give me the "are you sure? " look with his right brow raised. A chuckle escaped my lips as I nod my head.

"He may look tough on the outside but he sure is a soft hearted man."

I said as I turn my head to look at Cloud. We were both silent for a while when Mhyco suddenly started sniffing out of the blue.

"W-why? What's wrong Mhyco? "

I got startled when he began crying.

"Nothing, I'm just thankful that I met people like you.  I was about to make one of the biggest mistakes of my life,  my heart was hard as stone and my decision was final but because of your question it changed my decision. Thank you Lauren,  thank you. "

I can't help but smile as I pulled Mhyco for a hug. He was like a fragile child as I wrapped my arms around him.  He was still crying with hiccups which I think is cute.
