It's been five days after the death of my mother and up to this day, I'm still looking for answers.

Her ashes were laid inside a private building I bought and I only visited it once.  I don't want to cause any trouble with her new family.

I'm sitting on a couch in the living room with my thoughts on haywire. It's already 2 AM in the morning and I can't sleep.  All the lights were off,  except for the light from Drey's chest that's indicating his battery level.

I bit my lower lip as I run my fingers through my hair then back down on my face to give it a rub.

"Damn it."

I whispered to myself, definitely frustrated with how things are going right now.

"Cloud?"

I look at the direction of the voice, it was Lauren who's sleepily walking down the stairs that is lighting up for every step she takes while rubbing her eyes like a child.

"Why are you still awake?"

She asked, her voice husky.  Her hair was messy and she's wearing her blue penguin printed pajamas. A smile formed at the corner of my lips as I shake my head,  it's just that she looks so fragile at this state.  I'm so tempted to pull her closer and give her a tight hug.

"Nothing, I just can't sleep. I've been thinking about a lot of things lately. How 'bout you? Why are you here showing me your ugly face?"

I want to laugh when she purposely let her nostrils flare. She then rolled her eyes before giving me an answer.

"I dreamed about my mom and my dad,  I miss them so much. "

She said with her voice a little bit cracking as she closes her eyes and leans her back on the couch.

"And I'm hungry too."

She added as she turns her head to look at me with a dead expression on her face.  I shake my head with disbelief before pressing my lips together as I look at her.

"You're unbelievable. Who gets hungry at two AM?"

She let out a sigh before looking up, it was so quiet around and I was caught off guard when my stomach began to grumble. Lauren looked at me with wide eyes and a wide smile on her face.  I fvckin' know I'm as red as a tomato right now.  Fvck, why does it have to be at this moment?

"Hehehe! Let's go feed that monster."

She said as she rubs my stomach making me more embarrassed with myself. She switched the lights on then headed towards the kitchen while happily skipping like a kid.

I followed her to the kitchen and sat on a stool as I watch her skillfully move around.

While watching her chopping some garlic cloves I had a sudden vision flashed in my mind together with a short pain at the back of my head.

"Are you ok?"

Lauren asked as she grabs my hand. I nod my head at her and take a deep breath. I don't know what's wrong with me but I've been getting weird images in my mind lately. It feels so real,  I dunno.

"Do you love to paint?"

I suddenly asked, her brows furrows as she looks at me.

"I do, why? "

I shrug my shoulders telling her that it's nothing, that it was just a random question but the truth is I saw a painting in my mind I don't even know who painted it but the colors and even the roughness of the canvas, it felt like I was there when it was painted.
