"What do you mean you were not created to go any further?" Martin asked. "You mean to tell me you are not even human?"
"That is correct." Shar replied showing no emotion.
Martin stared intently at Shar. "Well, who created you and what are you then?"
"I am a Tulpa, created by you, master."
"A Tulpa, what is a Tulpa? And how did I create you?"
"A Tulpa, is a being created from the mind, master. You created me in your search for knowledge through fear of the unknown, therefor bringing me to life."
Martin was perplexed. Was he really capable of being able to conjure things into existence. Just by thinking them up in his mind. Maybe it is one of his many abilities as a Necron. Imagine the possibilities of what he could do he thought. All the sudden he remembered something.
"Shar?"
"Yes, master?"
"You told me earlier that you had been expecting me and you had been waiting for many years for my return. You also told me that there isn't anyone else aloud in this sanctuary, except for you and me and some animals."
"That I did." Shar replied.
Martin raised an eyebrow. "How is it possible that you have been here since the beginning waiting for me, yet you told me you were created from my fear of the unknown knowledge I was seeking?"
"I am afraid I cannot answer that, master."
"Why not?" Martin asked.
"It is beyond my understanding. I am sorry Martin, but that is all I know." Shar said sadly.
Martin was confused. Nothing of what he had just learned made any sense to him what so ever. How could he have created a world and yet it be waiting for his arrival at the same time. There has to be an explanation for it, he mumbled. Maybe, he had been here before, he wondered. That is right, he thought. He had been here before, as an infant. That is when he had created the mountains and forests that make up the sanctum. So, it must also have been when he had created Shar as well. Wait, no, that can't be right, he whispered. She was created earlier today from what she had told him. Martin sat in thought for a moment. How is it possible then.
Finally, he turned to Shar and asked. "May I see your face?"
"You have not given me a face master. Therefor, there isn't anything to see."
"What's behind the mask you wear then?" Asked Martin.
"Whatever your mind desires." She said as she slowly began unwinding the wrappings from her face.
Many thoughts and faces scattered throughout Martins mind as he watched her unravel the mask. He thought of his mother. He thought of Jenny Hudson. He thought of Mien and Azura. He thought of many women he had known throughout his lifetime. And then he thought of Solana. Oh, how he missed her beautiful face. The long golden braid she let hang over her shoulder and the way she carried herself. The look of solemn in her piercing blue eyes. Her smile was breathtaking when she allowed him to see it. He couldn't help but envision her face as he waited for Shar to remove the last strand covering her.
When she finally removed the last piece and turned her face towards the light for him to see who she mimic'd. Martin was in awe of who he saw staring back at him. It wasn't Solana like he was sure it would be. But Instead, it was Azura. Again, Martin was perplexed. Why would his minds desire be to see Azura and not Solana. Although, she was a very attractive and beautiful woman, he didn't think of her in the way that he did Solana. As he thought of the reasons for Shar to look like Azura, he then noticed her whole outfit was as he remembered. It was as if she were standing here right before him instead of Shar. He then smiled at the thought, that it was going to be very difficult to call her Shar and not Azura.
