"He should of been back by now." Stated Azura. "What's taking him so long?"
"I don't know, but we need to find out. Stay here, I will go have a look. Lock the door and don't let anyone in except for Martin or me, got it?"
Azura nodded her understanding. She locked the door behind him and waited as Adal went to see where Martin could be. Adal made his way down the stairs and to the tavern. He scanned the place over and didn't spot Martin anywhere. He also noticed that Solana and the man and his guards were gone as well. An uneasy feeling suddenly washed over him not knowing where or what happened to his friends. He headed back upstairs to relay the information to Azura. On his way back up, he spotted a necklace lying on the steps. He picked it up and recognized it as Martin's locket.
"What happened, my boy. Where are you?" He whispered to himself.
He quickly made his way back to their room and knocked on the door.
"Open up Azura. It's me Adal."
She opened the door and let him in.
"Well, what did you find out?"
"I found this." He said holding up the locket.
"That is Martin's necklace." Azura said concerned.
"Yes, it is. And it looks to be broken as if someone pulled it off in a struggle or something."
"So someone must of taking him. What about Solana? Is she still here?"
"She is gone as well. We need to gather our stuff and leave. I don't think it is safe here anymore."
Azura sighed, but agreed. The two of them quickly got their things and headed for the stables. They did their best to keep a low profile as they made it to their horses and headed out of town.
"I told you I don't know who she is." Martin said as he spit blood from his mouth.
The soldier punched him again across the face, making his head pound even more.
"This is the last time! I won't ask you again!" The soldier spat. "How do you know this woman?"
Martin wanted so badly to call forth the winds to end his torment but he couldn't. With his hands and feet shackled and his neck in a noose he wasn't sure on what would happen. If he tried anything, he knew they would drop the latch he was standing on. Then either his neck would snap from the drop or he would surely choke to death from being hung. He had to think of something or give them some kind of information. If he didn't they were going to kill him.
"She's a beautiful woman who happens to be good at fighting. That is all I know. I don't know what else I can tell you. What is it you want?"
"Why were you following me then?" The man who bought Solana asked. "Why pretend you have slaves and want to sell them to me?"
Martin looked over at Solana kneeling on the ground with her hands and feet shackled as well. It angered him to see her so vulnerable and weak. Two soldiers had the blades of their swords resting on her shoulders. Ready to cut her throat at any moment. He needed to be careful on what he said, so he didn't put her's or his life at any more risk.
"I was sent by Lord Ragoul to spy on her. She has valuable information about the whereabouts of the Necron princess and her companions. I was supposed to befriend her and gain information through any means necessary. But I lost her trail a few days back. Then I saw her again fighting in the pits. I was going to use the slave trades to my advantage to hopefully gain her trust. But before I could get the gold I needed sent from Lord Ragoul she was sold. When I found out who had bought her I followed them to learn what their intentions were. And well you know what happened next and here we are. I am warning you though, I am not the only one that was sent. And if she dies before he gains what knowledge he needs from her. Well, use your imagination boy."
