Chapter twenty two

Ok so sorry for last chapter I know it was weird. I just wanted to write something dramatic.

Chapter 22

Kate's P.O.V

When I wake up everything is different. All the pain I felt yesterday, it's gone. I feel normal and I'm ready to think rationally. It's Tuesday, it's not Monday any more so I'm happier.

I roll out of bed a quickly slip on jeans and a tshirt. After that I pull open the curtains to let the sunlight filter in through the glass. I walk downstairs and sit with Austin to eat breakfast, which consists of lucky charms cereal.

When I finish, I go back to my room and paint my face with makeup. I slip on socks and my Toms and head downstairs to go to school.

Mom is apparently sick so I figure I better take Austin to school. She's waiting by the door holding my keys out for me. Together we walk outside and get into my car. After checking that she's seat belted I drive to her school.

I pull through the drop off line and she gets out with a wave. I look at the time and see that I have ten minutes to get to first period. I drive quickly ad park in my usual spot at school.

I run up the steps and to my locker to put my stuff up. I grab my binder and run to first, making it ten seconds before the bell.

I slide into my seat and collect myself. I slide into the spaced out conciseness that I hold myself to in school. And the day goes by without a hitch.

Ethan and Adam both avoid me. Well Adam tries to talk to me but I don't let him. I think he feels bad about our breakup, but it's been two weeks and I'm fine.

Ethan on the other hand, he's a different story. He isn't even at school. He's one of my bestfriends besides the girls, and he doesn't even text me when he isn't gonna be here. I decide to just ignore it and confront him about it when he gets back.

I slide into my car after school and fasten my seatbelt. I drive quickly to Austin's school to collect her and when I get there she's sitting surrounded by a group of guys.

So Austin's a little popular girl. All the guys are shoving each other around to get to be her main focus, and I can tell that she isn't enjoying this. I pull op in front of them and unlock the car. She gets up and stalks over to me, not looking very happy. She slides in silently and I quickly pull away.

Austin's P.O.V

After school ends I go outside to sit where I always do. This time though, I'm followed by most of the guys in my last class.

Sometimes I just with that they would leave me alone. That they would go bother Allie or someone else. Everyone tells me I'm beautiful, but most of the girls at my school are more gorgeous than I'll ever be.

None of my friends follow after me today, so I'm left to fend for myself against the boys. It's not that I don't like the attention but they do it every day, so I'm so over it.

It feels like I'm waiting forever for Kate. Yes I know she's a senior and has a social life, but still can she hurry her butt up. At least some of the eighth grade guys are hot, it would suck if they weren't.

Finally after what feels like twenty minutes, but in reality is only ten, Kate shows up. I get up quickly and stalk over to the car and slide in.

"Sorry it took so long, there was traffic. Do you always have all the boys around you, or was that just today?"

I take a deep breath, not really wanting to talk about it. "It's fine. And yeah they're always there. It's not all the awesomeness your probably picturing though. Its kinda annoying ya know."

She laughs at my tone of voice but drops the subject and we spend the next five minutes talking about whatever comes to our minds. I actually enjoy spending time with Kate, I'm not like other fourteen year old girls like that.

When we get home I retreat to my room after grabbing a smack. I have no homework so I plan on watching movies on Netflix and talking to my friend.

Yes friend as in singular. All the boys hanging around me as made all the girls not wanna be friends with me. That's another downside of them. But Danny is cool with it.

I end up making plans with her to go get some ice cream or something. We decide on four thirty, so in twenty minutes. I change from jeans to shorts, grab my gift card for the ice cream place, and my phone scream at Kate that I'm going out with Danny and walk down to Danny's house.

She's waiting outside for me, phone in hand. She skips down the steps and falls in step beside me. We walk in a comfortable silence and soon we're at Blue Bell creameries. Yes we are lucky enough to have an ice cream factory in our town, be jealous.

We walk in and head over to the store area, having no interest in the factory tour. Once we are at the front of the line I state that I would like a double scoop of cookie dough in a waffle cone.

I get my ice cream and hand over my gift card. I end up having five dollars still on it so I slide it back into my pocket. We walk over to a booth and sit and eat our treats. My phone starts to buzz with an incoming call from my dad. which is weird.

Longer chapter. From now on I think I'm going to be splitting the chapters, half in one P.O.V and the rest in another. Ok I need a nickname for Austin. I don't like calling her that. Ok I'm gonna stop talking now Bai.
