Picture of Adam aboveChapter two
My heart is pounding in a fevered frenzy, begging to be released. The air seems to shimmer, and not in a good way. So in answer to his question I simply state, "Adam, it's nothing personal, I think what we have now is good for us, in six months if you still feel the same way then, my answer will be yes. Adam I really do like you, I just don't want to ruin our friendship. It means too much to me." Wait, what?
He looked at me and with a small, half-hearted smile and nodded. We continued our walk home, picking up the conversation where we had left off like nothing had happened.
My head was spinning with this new information. Adam liked me, my Adam, the one I tell anything. I just couldn't see how it was possible he was him and I'm just....well I'm just me.
We reached my house and I walked inside, briefly turning around and smiling at him. He continued the short walk to his house, which was down the street. I couldn't help but notice that he didn't give me a good bye hug like normal, and it felt weird.
I walk up to my room and turned on my go-to music, Five Seconds Of Summer and One Direction. I lay face down on my bed and cried my eyes out. How could I have said no to him? Why? Why am I so stupid, going out with him is all I've ever wanted since the beginning of the year. Now I sound pathetic, but it's how I feel.
I finish crying soon, though I don't know why. Once I'm in the bathroom, I clean up my make up and straighten my clothes. I grab my wallet and iPhone and walk downstairs.
I yell to my mom to let her know where I'm going so she doesn't worry and walk out the door. The air is cool and the sunshine and breeze are making me happier, so I decide to walk. Starbucks isn't that far after all.
When I finally get there I walk inside and go to the counter to order my drink. I decide on the strawberries and cream frapachino, because I don't like coffee and it's an amazing drink.
The barista takes one look at my swollen face and says "Guy issues?"
"Like nobody's buissness," I grumble, and stomp away. When the barista calls my name I walk up to the counter and grab my drink. She winks and mutters "It's on the house." Nice! I walk out the door and begin the long walk back home. This time home seems a step away due to the free drink.
When I finally get home I decide to work on my geometry homework. Yeah I know, but I'm a hard core good girl. Homework is just something I've always done, so don't judge.
--------------------------------Ok so it's different. Still I can't believe my chapters were so short. Sorry.
