Chapter Twenty Seven

It's a week later and still, nobody is happy. I feel more alone than ever.

Adam and b!tch face have broken up now. He claims she blackmailed him into, and part of me believes him. He never has seemed like the kind of guy to drop a girl and date another the next day.

We're talking again, and back to sitting together in classes and at lunch. If we work hard, maybe we can be back where we were before. Maybe....? I hope so to be honest.

It's Saturday morning, and what do you know I'm sitting in my room, alone, again. Big surprise. Wattpad and Instagram and all my other normal sites have become slightly boring. What I need is some social interaction, not through the Internet.

I call Paige to see if she wants to go do something.

"Hey. Umm Paige, do you maybe wanna go do something later. Only if you want to of course."

"Umm I was gonna go to the mall with the new girl, Rebecca. You can totally join if you want though."

"Yeah sure that sounds fun. What time?"

"We were planning on eleven thirty. Does that work for you or naw?"

"Yeah it's perfectly fine. See you there."

We hang up at the same time and I get ready to head to the mall. Im assuming she means rolling oaks mall, because that's the one in our town. I slip on some clean shorts and top and head down to grab my keys.

I drive the ten minutes to Rolling Oaks and then go inside. Once I'm inside, I realize that I'm early, by like half an hour. So I decide to go to one of the stores that Paige doesn't like going to.

Once I get inside hallmark, I see a whole wall full of cute stuffed animals. Once I've looked at them for a good five minutes, I decide that I have to get one. It takes another ten minutes just to choose which fluffy animal I want to call my own.

I finally decide on an adorable dog, the only difference from real life is, the stuffed animal is purple not a realistic color like brown or black.

I walk up to the register to pay and I see Paige, with Rebecca coming out of hollister hold a bunch of bags. I quickly pay for my animal, not nearly as excited anymore. They're heading towards Macy's, probably to go out to their cars.

I head to the foo court to wait for them. While I'm sitting I formulate a plan to completely ignore Paige, and work on building a friendship with Rebecca.

Five minutes later, Rebecca and Paige walk up to my table and plop down.

"Hey Rebecca. I'm Kate pleased to meet you."

"Umm hi. Nice to meet you Kate, Paige has said some good things about you."

"Ok well what store do you want to go to first, what about hollister?"

"Ok that sounds good" Paige finally says something, and I know she's lying.

We walk to hollister together, me still ignoring Paige. I find out a lot about Rebecca though. She's asked me to call her Becca though, she says Rebecca sounds to formal. She's an only child and just moved here from California. She's really sweet and we made plans to have a movie night in a week.

We shop at hollister for awhile and then we go through the other stores. By the time we're finished I'm exhausted and ready to go home.
