Jonah found himself not wanting to get up for the day. He snuggled into his sheets, and decided he could sleep an extra few minutes. He woke up to someone vigorously shaking his shoulder.
"Jonah, you need to wake up." Steve said soothingly.
"Hrngh, okay." He grunted, stretching out like a cat. "What time is it?"
"Eight." Steve said. Taking a step back.
Jonah sprung from his bed and sprinted towards his dresser.
"I'm late." He exclaimed, not having time to take a shower.
He threw on a sweater and pants, thundering down the stairs to grab a protein shake. Quickly grabbing his jacket, and backpack.
It was halfway through autumn in Montana, and could grow very cold.
As his father Steve was leaving for work, he dropped Jonah off at school.
Running to class, he bumped into Brittany, and sent her flying... again.
"Oh gosh, sorry." He said, stopping in his tracks to help her up.
"I don't want help from your stupid ass." She snapped. "I bet your a faggot just like that skanky friend of yours."
Jonah stood there in disbelief, shocked any person would say something that rude.
"Hey, you shouldn't talk to anyone like that." A low familiar voice said behind him.
He still got shivers up his spine as he looked up at Torian.
Torian looked furious, his mesmerizing eyes glaring down at Brittany. Jonah could feel the anger in the air that was radiating from him.
"All he was doing was trying to help you." Torian said, taking a step towards Brittany. "What the hell is wrong with you?" He growled, taking another step. His voice held power as he boomed each time.
"Well, the other day he-" She stammered, quickly standing up.
"All he did was stand up for his friend. And yeah he may have shoulder decked you, but this time he didn't mean to." Torian spat. Getting angrier by the second, and his dominant side was coming out.
Jonah stood there in shock and fear. Torian angry was terrifying, he almost acted, beastly.
"Torian it's fine, thankyou for your help." He said quietly. Torian's eyes softened, as Torian looked over at Jonah, Jonah looked very overwhelmed.
"I need to get to class." Jonah muttered, inching away. "I'm sorry for the other day, and sorry for bumping you now." He said to Brittany.
"Thanks for uh, standing up for me." He said shyly, glancing at Torian.
With that he turned on his heels, walking briskly to his English class. As he was panting, he sat down in his seat. Putting his head on the desk.
As the grueling day of school continued, he met up with Logan at lunch. "You won't believe what's been going on." He said to Logan.
"I know, Torian has been talking to you." Logan said, placing his backpack down at their lunch table.
"How did you know that?" Jonah asked.
"The whole school has been talking about it."
"Yikes, news gets around that quick?" He said. Looking around the lunchroom at the other students.
"Yeah, personally I don't think you should talk to him or whatever." Logan said, getting annoyed.
"Just curious, why?" He asked, looking out into the lunchroom.
"Well, for starters he only wants you for your body, then you'll be kicked to the curb like the rest of the people he's hooked up with. Secondly, he gives off a weird vibe." Logan stated, looking directly at Jonah.
"Your second point kinda stinks. But I can see concern for the first point. I do know that's what he's known for. But what if he just wants a friend?" Jonah questioned.
Logan snorted, "As if, I doubt being your friend is one of his priorities."
Jonah rolled his eyes, "Fine, I'll be careful, and I won't do anything stupid."
Logan's body relaxed a bit after Jonah said that.
"I just don't want you to get hurt." Logan whispered quietly, so Jonah couldn't hear.
