Jonah and Torian began walking back to the manor, Jonah found himself kicking a pebble on the dirt path to ease the silence.
"I can't believe that you came after me to save me," Jonah said, deeply touched.
"Yeah well if something serious had happened to you, I could never forgive myself." Torian muttered, scratching the back of his head awkwardly, as the taller man lifted his arm, he got a small show of Torian's abs.
Jonah stopped walking abruptly on the dirt path, Torian looked behind him at Jonah.
"I owe you an apology Torian." Jonah said softly.
Torian was taken aback.
"I haven't been completely fair to you through all of this. You're not the one who killed my mom, you're not the one who made my dad leave. And you didn't try to drive Logan away on purpose." Jonah stated, looking at Torian in a new way, with affection and confidence.
Torian was flabbergasted, "I know that you're going through a lot right now, I just want to be there for you."
He slowly made his way towards Jonah, he stood in front of his shorter mate.
"I just want to try this over again, but I want to start out as friends first, I want to get to really know you, so you would not only be the person I would eventually love, but my best friend too." Jonah responded.
Even though you weren't able to choose you're mate, and you had to accept it, Torian knew he already loved Jonah.
Love itself isn't necessarily a choice.
He gently caressed Jonah's cheek, he saw Jonah practically melt under his touch.
He himself felt sparks from where he held contact with Jonah's skin.
"Let's go back to the house." Torian said hoarsely, not wanting to do anything Jonah might feel rushed to do. As Jonah
did want to start as friends.Rushing ahead, Torian sighed in relief when he saw the manor's garden.
By the time they reached the manor, all of Torian's family was home.
Jonah was feeling nervous to meet Torian's family, Torian was charming, he was not.
He was shy, awkward, and very blunt.
"So um, I'm guessing you're parents are werewolves too." Jonah said, trying to make simple conversation.
Torian chuckled. "Yes they are."
"Are you nervous?" Torian smirked.
"N-no, maybe." Jonah said, shifting his eyes away from Torian.
"It's fine, don't worry, I'm sure they'll like you." Torian stated.
"I hope so." Jonah mumbled.
"But all in all, none of this really matters." Torian muttered.
Jonah raised a brow, "I don't know if I follow."
"It doesn't matter what people think, it shouldn't anyways, and either way you're still Jonah. Jonah who likes art, video games and super heroes. Never let anyone change you, change you for only for yourself. Because in your darkest and even final moments, you don't think of the people you pleased, you go back to your memories that you shared with those you love." Torian said, looking out into the garden.
He saw Torian's eyes practically shine, and had a different view on what really mattered.
