Caspians POV
I wake up and realize I'm in a new environment. The ceiling is decorated with artifacts my eyes have never seen before. Sitting up I look around the room, however my hand goes to my head as it is in pain.
"This bread is so stale," I hear a male voice say from the other room.
"I'll just give him some soup. He should be coming around soon," another voice says. I take the bandage off my bruised head.
"I don't think I hit him hard enough." I realize that the man who is speaking isn't even a man at all. He is a dwarf. I stand up and lean on the doorway to see the narnians talking.
"Nikabrik, he's just a boy."
"He's a Telmarine, not some lost puppy. You said you were going to get rid of him," Nikabrik says.
"No. I said I'd take care of him." I look through the doorway to see a badger and the dwarf that hit me in the head, sitting down at a table talking to one another, obviously thinking I'm still unconscious. "We can't kill him now. I just bandaged his head. It would be like murdering a guest." Now I'm panicking. These Narnians are willing to kill me. Why is everyone willing to kill me?
"How do you think his friends are treating their guest?" Nikabrik asks. What on earth are they talking about? Guest? What guest?
"Trumpkin knew what he was doing. It's not the boy's fault." With that, I run out from my hiding place, bumping into the badger and pushing the dwarf to the side. The dwarf regains his balance rather quickly and grabs his sword. I grab a stick from the fire. We start to battle while the badgers shouts,"Hold it!"
"I told you we should have killed him when we had the chance."
"You know why we can't," the badger states.
"If we're taking a vote, I'm with him." I nod towards the badger.
"We can't let him go, he's seen us." Nikabrik almost jabs me with his sword.
"Enough Nikabrik!" I fall down. "Or do I have to sit on your head again?" Again? Narnians are so weird. "And you." He looks to me. "Look what you made me do." I look down at the mess. "I spent half the morning on that soup," he mumbles and turns away.
"What are you?" I stumble to ask.
"You know it's funny that you would ask that. You would think people would know a badger when they saw one."
"No. No, I mean... you're Narnians. You're supposed to be extinct."
"Sorry to disappoint you," Nikabrik states while walking off.
The badger offers me more soup saying that it's hot. Nikabrik then asks about owning a boarding house for Telmarine shoulders. I stand up quickly.
"I'm not a soldier. I'm Prince Caspian. The Tenth."
"What are you doing here?"
"I was running away with my sist....sister! Terrain! Oh god, what have I done? Do you know where she is? Is she in another room?" I ask, about to look around the home.
"She's not here," Badger says guilty. Trying to change the subject he asks why we were running away.
"My uncle has always wanted Terrain and I's throne. I suppose we have only lived this long because he did not have a heir of his own." I look into the fire not wanting to see the reactions of the Narnians.
"Oh... that changes things."
"Yeah. means we don't have to kill him ourselves."
"You're right," I say walking towards my cloak and sword.
"Where are you going?"
"My uncle won't stop until Terrain and I are dead. I need to find her and make sure she's safe."
"But.... you can't leave. You're meant to save us," Badger says, making me look at him like he's crazy."
"You expect me to leave my sister?"
"No, that's not what I'm saying." He tells me about the horn, my sister blew. "Don't you know what that is?" I can't take this anymore. Terrain is out there, I need to find her.
"I am sorry, but I am not the one who can save you." I leave after that, out into the dark, mysterious woods.
