Caspians POV
I've been walking through the woods for hours, getting far away from any Narnians and hoping to find Terrain. However I know that Nikabrik and Badger are following me. They have been ever since I left last night. I hear rustling coming from the bushes behind me. Finally fed up with them, I decide to call them out.
"I can hear you." I look back to where the sound came from, very annoyed.
"I just think we should wait for the Kings and Queens," Badger suggests, coming out from his hiding spot. I turn around and continue to walk. "Fine! Go then! See if the others will be as understanding."
"Maybe I'll come with you. I want to see you explain this to the minotaurs," Nikabrik states making me face him.
"Minotaurs? They're real?"
"And very bad tempered," Badger mumbles.
"Yeah, not to mention big."
"Huge."
"What about centaurs, so they still exist?" I ask curiously, walking with them.
"Well, the centaurs will probably fight on your side. But there's no telling what the others will do," Badger points out.
I hesitate to ask my next question, but I am very curious to know the answer. "What about Aslan?" Both creatures stop in place, look at each other, then face me.
"How do you know so much about us?" Nikabrik asks.
"Stories," I say, as if it's obvious.
"Wait a minute. Your father told you stories of Narnia?"
"No, my professor. Listen, I'm sorry. These are not the kind of questions you should be asking," I state rather harshly starting to walk again. I didn't mean to sound so rude. It's just that my father is gone, and I need to find my sister.
"What is it?" Nikabrik asks.
"Human," Badger says. I face him, thinking he was smelling me.
"Him?"
"No. Them," Badger says, turning his head to face Telemarine scouts.
"There they are!" One of the men yells, holding his crossbow at the ready, along with the other soldiers.
"Run!" I start to run as fast as my legs can take me. The soldiers start shooting, making arrows fly through the air. As I run, an arrow hits a tree not far from my head. One after the other, the soldiers continue to shoot.
"Oh. Ah!" Badger yells. He is hit. I stop in my tracks and turn around.
"Oh, no," Nikabrik says, and heads towards him.
"Wait. I'll go," I state, running past Nikabrik and kneeling down in front of Badger. I look up to see the soldiers getting closer.
Just as I am about to pick him up, Badger tells me that getting to my sister and retrieving the horn is more important than saving him. I look up once more to the soldiers, only to hear grunts, and see the tall grass move. Each soldier falls to the ground. Confused, I pick up Badger, ignoring his cries, and start to run. The soldiers chase after us, shooting their arrows. But every so often I hear a loud thump, as another soldier falls.
"Get him out of here," I tell Nikabrik, handing over Badger. I grab my sword from its haulster, facing my enemy. I notice only one soldier is left. He drops his crossbow, grabs his sword and starts to swing at the ground.
"Where are you?" He demands, still swinging at the grass. Not a moment later he falls. The creature starts to race towards me. All I see is a flash OR a glint of light (off a sword) through the tall grass, as a force pins me down. I lift my head up to face a... mouse?
"Choose your last words carefully, Telmarine," he hisses.
"You are a mouse," I state.
The mouse sighs heavily. "I was hoping for something a little more original. Pick up your sword."
I look to my sword then face the mouse. "Uh... No thanks."
"Pick it up. I will not fight an unarmed man."
"Which is why I might live longer if I choose not to cross blades with you, noble mouse," I say, hoping I may live and find my sister.
"I said I would not fight you. I didn't say I'd let you live." He points his sword back in my face, frightening me.
"Please noble mouse, if you kill me now, you are killing an innocent man who won't be able to say goodbye to their younger sister." His eyes soften, but only slightly as he didn't move the blade away from my face.
"Reepicheep! Stay your blade!"
"Trufflehunter?" So that is the Badger's name. "I trust you have a very good reason for this untimely interruption."
"He doesn't, go ahead," Nikabrik says making me roll my eyes.
"His sister is the one who blew the horn." The mouse, Reepicheep looks taken aback.
"What?" He asks in disbelief.
"Then where is she?"S Some centaurs emerge from the woods. "This is the reason we have gathered. To speak to your sister."
"I do not know where she is, however you can speak to me about the horn. Then we shall find my sister." Reepicheep finally gets off me. I stand tall, facing the noble creatures.
"So be it."
