Ch. 10 Reuinited

Caspians POV

    As we have been searching for the Kings and Queens of old, we have been finding soldiers for the battle against the Telmarines. It's been three days since I have seen my sister. I hope we find her soon. Walking through the woods I hear a faint cry. It had sounded like a girl. I pull my sword from its holster, ready for anything out of the ordinary to occur.
Suddenly a young blonde haired man steps out from the bushes. Thinking he is a Telmarine soldier I cross blades with him. He deflects my blade. We continue to battle until he knocks my sword from my hands. He swings his sword, however I duck just in time. The blonde gets his sword stuck in a tree. Struggling to free it, I stand up and kick his abdomen, making him fall to the ground. I try to release his sword from the tree only to hear such familiar words come from such a familiar being.

Terrains POV

"Peter stop!" I yell just before Peter can strike my brother with a rock. I look around, as well as Peter, at all the Narnians. There are centaurs, minotaurs, fauns, dwarves and even a badger. I run towards my brother, his arms wrap around my figure as we embrace. It feels so good to be in his arms again, to breathe his scent to be safe in his arms. As we pull away from each other Caspian faces Peter.
"Prince Caspian?" Peter questions.
"Yes, and who are you?"
I walk towards Peter, "This is High King Peter, the Magnificent. He and his siblings rescued Trumpkin and myself from the Telmarines. I owe them my life." I state holding Peter's hand.
"Peter!" I hear Susan yell and she and the rest of the group have caught up. Caspian looks to the sword in his hand. Meanwhile I released my hand from Peters hold.
"High King Peter." Caspian says, confused.
"I believe you called."
"Well, yes, but... I thought you'd be older." My brother says looking at Susan. Susan blushes ever so slightly, making me want to vomit.
"If you like, we could come back in a few years..." Peter says. He is about to turn around when both Caspian and I shout "no".
"No, that's all right. You're just..."
"Not what we had expected." I say finishing Caspians sentence. "In the stories you were older. That's what our professor told us when teaching us about Narnia's history. That's why I was so confused yet completely thrilled when I met you all."
Edmund speaks up, saying that some of the Narnians were also an unexpected surprise. "A common enemy unites even the oldest of foes." a badger states.
"We have anxiously awaited your return, my liege. Our hearts and swords are at your service." A mouse says while bowing. Peter smiles. I walk over to Ed.
"Oh my gosh, he is so cute." I hear Lucy say.
"Who said that?" The mouse demands, readying his sword.
"Sorry." Lu mumbles.
"Oh, uh.... Your majesty, with the greatest respect, I do believe "courageous," "courteous," or "chivalrous" might more befit a knight of Narnia."
Peter speaks up, "well, at least we know some of you can handle a blade." Looking over to see my brother, I can tell he is hurt at Peter's words. One of my hands forms into a fist as the mouse tells Peter about weapons. Ed must have noticed my frustration, because his hand was on mine in an instant. Calming me down, I allowed my hand to hold his. Caspian gave Peter back his sword which he puts his sword in his holster and walks beside Caspian as my brother leads the way to the rest of the Narnians.
Still holding Ed's hand I look up to him. "Why is Peter acting different?"
"I don't know. For the past year all he has talked about is being in Narnia and now that we are here, I think he believes he holds all the power."
"Why?"
"Coming back from Narnia was hard on all of us. However I think Peter had it the hardest. He never could accept the fact that he was no longer King. That he had to grow up all over again. That he had to grow up in a new world, not the world he loves."
"So that's why he is so angry. He wants to be back in the world he loves. And this world isn't the same. This is a different world from when you and your siblings ruled."
Ed only nods. With that we continue to walk.
