"It's only a matter of time." Peter states as we have gathered everyone for a meeting. "Miraz's men and war machines are on their way. That means those same men aren't protecting his castle." he says as he walks around the room looking at everyone. Right at this moment I am sitting next to Ed.
"What do you propose we do, Your Majesty?" Reepicheep asks. Both my brother and Peter begin talking at the same time. Peter gives Caspian a look that makes him nod his head and shut up.
"Our only hope is to strike them before they strike us." Peter states.
"That's crazy, no one has taken that castle." My brother argues.
I speak up, "there's always a first time, dear brother." He looks to me, anger is shown in his eyes. I look down from his harsh glare.
"We'll have the element of surprise." Trumpkin pipes in.
"But we have the advantage here!" Caspian states.
Queen Susan speaks up, "If we dig in, we could probably hold them off indefinitely." my brother looks at her like she is some type of goddess. Can she not just stay quiet? Peter looks hurt at her words as she isn't on his side.
"I for one, feels safer underground." Trufflehunter says.
Peter walks up to Caspian, "look I appreciate what you've done here, but this isn't a fortress, it's a tomb."
"Yes." Ed begins, "and if they're smart, the Telmarines will just wait and starve us out." He explains agreeing with his older brother. A squirrel says we could eat nuts, I giggle just a bit, Ed looks at me. I smile up at him, looking into his chocolate brown eyes, immediately getting lost in them. Lucy speaks up, making me come back to reality and out of my head.
"That's what I'm worried about."
"Sorry?" Peter asks his youngest sibling to explain.
"You're all acting like there's only two options. Dying here, or dying there."
"I' not sure you've really been listening Lu."
"No, you're not listening. Or have you forgotten who really defeated the White Witch, Peter?" I lean forward listening to every bit of information coming from Lucy's mouth. Smart girl she is for her age. She was right. Aslan defeated Jadis, not Peter. I notice Peter's face go from confused to stern in a matter of seconds.
"I think we've waited for Aslan long enough." With that Peter left the meeting. I sigh, sitting back, leaning my weight on Ed's legs.
"What if Lucy is right?"
"What?" Ed asks looking down at me.
"Its like Lucy said, Aslan defeated the White Witch, not Peter. If Aslan isn't here to help us, will we not succeed?"
"If we don't succeed then we will try again, with or without Aslan's help." Ed starts to play with strands of my hair. It was my idea. I told Peter about the guards not being at the castle. If anyone dies while we try to take back the castle its on me. I hope we succeed, otherwise I couldn't live with myself.
"Do you doubt him?"
"Peter?" I nod. "Sometimes, but with Narnia" he sighs, "I just hope he knows what he's doing." with that we spent the rest of the day planning our attack for tonight.Sorry it's short but I wanted to save the battle for next chapter!!!! Hope you enjoyed reading 📖!!!!!!!!!
