"Stay here!" Edmund says before he jumps out of the window and onto the guard. They begin to fight, sword against sword. I feel helpless just standing around, I need to do something. Soon after my little discussion in my head, I notice Peter running across the courtyard.

"Now, Ed! Now!" I hear Peter yell. "Signal the troops!"

"I'm a bit busy, Pete!" He yells back. A guard pushes both of Edmund's arms to each side of his body, but Ed head butts the guard and begins to battle once more. Suddenly, his sword is slashed out of his hand. I gasp in fear before I run down the stairs and through the door. I grab Ed's torch and hit the guard over the head, making him pass out. I stand there, still holding the torch before looking over to Ed.

"Are you okay?" I ask him nervously.

"Ya, ya I'm okay..." He comes over to me and takes the torch out of my hand. "Are you?" I nod, unsure whether to trust my voice. I look over to Peter, cranking the grand wooden wheel that opens the gate. My brother and Queen Susan join him shortly after, continuing to make progress with opening the gate. Wait! Caspian is supposed to be at the gate house. Why is he with the King and Queen? I am pulled out of my thoughts when I hear Edmunds voice. "Terrain," I turn my head towards Ed. "I think we have a problem." He looks at the torch then back to me, his face radiating fear. I run over to him, roughly grab the torch from his hand, and start to bang it with mine.

"No, no, no." I whisper, while still banging the torch. I hear the castle guards come out from the castle and into the courtyard. Finally, the light turns on. "Yes!" I yell then hand the torch back to Ed, who signals the troops. Once I hear in the distance loud chants from the troops, I relax knowing they saw our signal.

"We're under attack!" A guard cries from the courtyard.

Peter and the others continue to crank the wheel. I see the troops moving towards the castle,  the drawbridge is now level with the ground. With the gate fully up, the troops make their way through. I see Peter, my brother and Queen Susan turn around. "For Narnia!" I hear Peter yell, before they all engage in battle.

"Come on Terrain, we need to find a safer place." Ed grabs my hand and leads me down the stairs. "Do you know of any safe places?"

"One... follow me." I lead Ed down the stairs and out one of the doors. We climb down one of the corridors and then onto a slanted roof. "There. Now we can still see everything that is happening and still be safe. And if we see anything going wrong, down there... we help."

Suddenly, a bunch of guards with crossbows come hurling out the door onto the platform below us. "Take aim!" The leader says. Only then do I notice that they are aiming for Peter. Quickly, I slid down the roof and take out the guard. Ed appears beside me and throws the guard from the roof. Peter must have noticed this because not a moment later he calls both our names. I look over to the other guards, one notices what we did and takes aim. Ed pushes me behind him, and I open the door the guards came through and pull Ed inside. He slams the door shut with his foot, just as the arrows start to fly.

I lock the door quickly making sure we are safe. Ed comes over to me and holds my face in his strong hands. I put my hands over his, telling him I'm okay. "I thought I lost you," he says, barely above a whisper. His head drops with relief. I take one of my hands off his and lift his chin. I look into his dark brown eyes, immediately getting lost in them.

"You could never lose me," I state. "I promise you that." He nods. "We should probably go help."

"I know." He gets up from the floor and helps me up after. "Come on, we got a battle to win." He smiles before leading me down the corridor. We soon come across a door that leads to the outside. As we walk out of the door, I see uncle Miraz push one of our troops off of a ledge, killing him.

"No!" I scream. Tears start to run down my face. I look to Peter who heard me scream. His face looks broken, as if he knows he is the cause of that Narnian's death. Ed starts to pull me away from the scene, but I never once lose eye contact with Peter, until I can no longer see him.

"Terrain we have to go now! The guards are coming for us!" I look back at the battle before I follow him. We run up one of the tower's stairs. I can hear the guards coming after us. Once we reach the top, we shut the door behind us, using the torch as a lock. The guards bang on the door. I look around, seeing that we are trapped, and so are the Narnians in the courtyard because the gate is closing. But before it does, one of the troops holds it up. He's not going to last long.

"Get them out of there Peter!" I yell as loud as I can. Ed puts his hands on my shoulders. With each bang of the door, I jump, scared that we are going to die. Ed and I turn around as the guards break through the door. We have nothing to defend ourselves with, as the guards take out there weapons.

"Do you trust me?" Ed asks.

"I trust you."

"Then hold on tight." I wrap my arms tightly around his waist. The guards draw closer to us. Just as one of the guards throws a dagger, Ed jumps off the tower. A scream escapes my lips. We land on Ludwig, my griffon and fly into the air.

"Edmund..." I can barely say his name because of the pain emitting from my side. As he looks to me, his face goes from happy to afraid. I cry as I pull the dagger out from my side, seeing it covered with blood. Ed quickly puts pressure on my wound, telling me I will be okay. All I can do now is look down at the courtyard and see death. And all I am wondering is: am I the next one to die?
