Terrain's POV
"I saw that the White Witch was going after Peter so I decided to jump off the high rocks and shatter her scepter. It didn't end well for me because I was stabbed not a moment later. I lay there in pain, not knowing if Peter was okay or not. Luckily Aslan killed the White Witch, allowing Lucy to come heal me." Edmund's story of how his siblings and him fought the White Witch and won, was thrilling. I sit in awe, listening to every word that comes out of his mouth.
"That sounds amazing. I mean not the getting stabbed part, but the whole adventure. I've never even stepped foot out of the castle borders," I say with a sigh and face Peter.
"Well it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows," Peter says amusingly. I smile wide, making Peter grin as well. Looking at the scenery, I notice that the water is crystal clear, allowing you to see the fish swim by. The trees, rocks and sky are beautiful.
"What was it like? Going back home when you spent all those years in Narnia?" I ask curiously.
"Weird," Edmund states. "One minute we were riding on our horses, all grown up, then the next minute we fall out of the wardrobe."
"So all of you are grown men and women, but in kids bodies?"
"Pretty much," Peter answers.
"That's weird and abnormal." I laugh enjoying the moment. I see the Queens laugh in the front of the boat, Edmund laughing beside me, and a small smile appears upon Peter's lips. We sit along in silence for 10 minutes just enjoying the peace and quiet when Lucy speaks up.
"They're so still."
"They're trees. What'd you expect?" The dwarf, Trumpkin, asks.
"They used to dance," she says sadly.
"Wasn't long after you left that the Telmarines invaded. Those who survived retreated to the woods." Everyone's attention is on Trumpkin. "And the trees, they retreated so deep into themselves that they haven't been heard from since."
"I don't understand. How could Aslan let this happen?" Lucy asks.
"Aslan? Thought he abandoned us when you lot did." Trumpkin turns his head to the side, so he can't see the Kings and Queens stare at him.
"We didn't mean to leave, you know," Peter says, rather sadly.
"Makes no difference now does it?" I can't take anymore of Trumpkin's sassy remarks. He is making them feel miserable. However I agree with him, so there is no use fighting.
"Get us to the Narnians... and it will," Peter says looking me in the eyes. My cheeks begin to heat up, I look down so that he can't see me blush.
I look back up to see Edmund already staring at me. "Ed, if you could go back to the day, you all went out riding.... would you still follow Lucy into the wardrobe?"
"I'm not to sure, to be honest." I look down a bit upset. He puts his forefinger under my chin and raises my head. "But I'm glad to be back." He smiles handsomely, staring into my green eyes as I stare into his mysterious brown ones.
That's when I realize that this is the closest I have ever been to anyone, except for Caspian. I pull away from his grip, resting my arm on my elbow, and continue to look at the fish. I glance over to Peter, seeing him rowing the boat. I notice the different features between him and Ed. For one, the hair color. But their eyes are so different. Edmund's are dark, mysterious, and intimidating, yet somehow soft. Peter's are bright, pure, soft loving and intense.
Peter notices my stare making me immediately look back to the water. Out of the corner of my eye I see his lips curve upwards. What are these Kings doing to me?
The rest of the ride we don't speak. Lucy spots an area where we can dock the boat. We haul the boat onto the shore, while Lucy looks around. "Hello, there." I hear Lucy say. We all turn our heads towards her and notice a bear not to far from her position. It stands on its back legs, making me think it is another Narnian. "It's all right. We're friends." The bear goes back to walking on all fours and grunts.
"Don't move, Your Majesty," Trumpkin says, crouching down, Lucy faces us. The bear hurtles towards Lucy at a rapid pace.
"Lucy run!" I yell from behind Edmund.
"Stay away from her!" Susan demands, holding her bow and arrow at the ready. Lucy trips, rolls over and faces the beast.
"Shoot, Susan! Shoot!" Ed yells and starts running towards his younger sister. Lucy lets out a terrifying scream right when the bear is about to attack her. Suddenly an arrow stops the creature, making him fall on his side. I look to Susan, however she didn't release her arrow. Looking around, I see Trumpkin place his bow by his side and start to walk towards the bear.
"Why wouldn't he stop?" Susan asks.
"I suspect he was hunger," Trumpkin blankly states.
Peter, Edmund and I run towards Lucy. Peter picks Lucy up, pointing his sword towards the injured creature. Ed pushes me behind him, holding his sword out like Peter's. I rest one of my hands on his shoulder, the other on his waist. I feel him shiver, but still hold on. Trumpkin pokes his sword at the bear to see if he is alive.
"Thanks," Lucy says towards Trumpkin.
"He was wild," Ed states.
Peter looks to his younger brother and me. "I don't think he could talk at all."
"Animals haven't talked for centuries. Before yesterday, I believed Narnians were extinct," I say from behind Ed's shoulder looking Peter directly in his soft, electric blue eyes.
"Get treated like a dumb animal long enough, that's what you become." Trumpkin takes out his knife. "You may find Narnia a more savage place than you remember." He cuts into the animal, making Lucy sob into Peter's chest, and me into Ed's shoulder. I feel Ed's hand on mine, comforting me. I feel safe when I'm with him, but then again, I feel safe when I'm around both Kings.Hey everyone! Hope you enjoyed reading 📖 and the video at the top !!! Pls vote and comment on what you liked!!!
