Not So Alone

2 weeks later

Jesus POV
...................
"Mmmm ugg." I say as I wake up. I rolled over and looked at Daryl who was sleeping soundly ...... which made a small smile appear on my lips. "Welp I better get up." I say to myself as I looked at my watch which read 7:15. Im supposed to be at the guard tower by 8.

I jump up and walk into the bathroom. As I brushed my hair, I felt arms snake around my waist. When I looked into the mirror, Daryl's form towered over me. "Good morning." I say.

"Good morning." He says sleepily as he drops his head into the crook of my neck.

"Come on, get off. I'm on watch this morning."

"Ugg really?" He says sadly.

"Yes really." I say turning to him and placing a soft kiss on his lips. "I'll be home later. And if you need anything you know where to find me." I smile.

"Yeah I guess." He smiles.

I look down at my watch which now read 7:39. "I better start heading down there." I say wrapping my arms around his neck and kissing him again. "Love you."

"Love you too." He says letting me go and I ran down stairs and out the door.

Maddie's POV

I heard the front door close and Daryl's footsteps towards their room. "Right on schedule." I say to myself as I grab my bag and head down stairs. "Bye Daryl I'm heading out!" I say going out the door without waiting for him to respond.

I ran down the road towards the back entrance where Daryl and I had escaped before. I checked my surroundings and dashed out before anyone could see me.

Daryl's POV

I heard her yell goodbye and I ran downstairs to ask where she was going but she was gone. I walked out and saw her running towards the back of Alexandria. "The hell is she doin?" I say running after her.

When she stopped at the back entrance and looked around, I hid behind one of the houses so she wouldn't see me. She then ran out into the woods and I followed behind. "What is she up to?" I say to myself.

She started to walk when we were pretty deep into the woods. I snuck behind her. She looked around and then started to climb the tree next to her. "Damn." I said astonished at how easily she climbed.

I started climbing the tree next to me and watched her. We sat out there for like an hour before I saw a deer approaching the tree Maddie was in. I saw her aim but before she could shoot, I shot an arrow through it.

Maddie's POV

I saw the deer approaching my tree. "Jackpot." I said to myself as I aimed for it.

Just as I was about to shoot, an arrow went through it. "What the hell?" I said climbing down.

I took the arrow out and smiled. "Alright Dixon. Where are ya?"

I saw him slide down the tree and put his hands up. I started shaking my head. "Put your hands down. What are you doing out here?"

"One could ask you the same thing." He says raising an eyebrow.

"I'm hunting. At least I was until you shot my deer."
