Two weeks later......

Daryl POV
...................
I sat at the kitchen table drinking a water while Jesus slept and Maddie... did whatever she's doing. I keep thinking about the run today. Jesus is gonna be so mad when I tell him about me leaving.

"Morning baby." I hear him yawn behind me. 'Speaking of the devil.' I think to myself as I chuckle lightly.

I felt him wrap his arms around my neck from behind as he kissed my cheek. "Morning." I say.

Then he walked in front of me and sat in my lap facing me. "So whatcha gonna do today?" He says.

I looked at him. "Well. Umm. I'm going to uuu.. go on a run." I say hesitantly. He gives me a sad look and stands up to go to the counter. "Your not gonna say anything?" I ask as I stand up and walk to him.

"What is there to say?" He says shrugging.

"You aren't mad?" I ask looking him in the eyes.

"Your grown. You know what your doing. Do I want you out there... without me? No. Am I sad maybe even mad that your going? Hell yeah. Do I wanna keep you here with me? Yes. But your a grown ass man. And I've got faith in you. I know you can handle yourself." He smiles softly.

Well damn. "I know your upset but baby I promise.. I'll come home. I won't be long out there." I smile lifting his chin. "And maybe you and I can do something when I get back."

He looked into my eyes and smiled softly. "Ok."

I pulled him close to me. "You wanna walk with me down there?" I ask kissing the top of his head.

"Yes." He says.

I smile, take his hand, and walk towards the door.

Jesus POV

Daryl and I stood at the gate waiting for Rick to get his slow ass here. "Baby do you have to go?" I say looking at him with sad eyes.

"Yes. Baby we talked about this. You told me I was a grown ass man.... remember." Daryl smiles at me.

"(Sigh) I know what I told you, and I meant it but... I don't like you out there. You know just as well as I do that those Saviors are out there...I don't like that your out there....at least without me." I said crossing my arms in front of my chest.

The closer we get to him leaving... the faster my heart beats. I'm kinda wishing I didn't tell him what what I told him earlier.  "And." I say pushing his face to look at me. "That also doesn't mean I won't miss you." I say giving him sad eyes.

"I know..... I'll miss you to." He smiles. "But, I haven't been on a run in forever, not since this stupid shit. Plus, Rick needs my help." He says cupping my face.
"I'll come home." He says as he kisses my forehead. "I promise." He continues as he gives me a smile.

"(Sigh) Ok." I say giving him a hug and laying my head on his chest.

"Alright Jesus. I hate to take your man but he and I gotta go." I hear someone say.

I looked up at Rick who stood there with a big smile on his face.
Daryl looked at him and smiled. "Ok." I say looking back at Daryl. "Be careful baby..... love you." I smile as he kisses me softly.

"I will. I promise." He says cupping my face. "And I love you too."

"(Sigh) Both of you be careful." I say looking at Rick.

"Will do." Rick says hopping into the drivers seat.

Daryl gives me one more kiss before hopping into the passenger seat. The car starts and they start driving away. As they did Daryl put his hand out the window and waved and I waved back.

"Please come home." I whisper as the car faded into the distance and I stood alone in the middle of the street.

Hey guys it's me. So here ya go. I know it's short, im sorry but I can't put all the good stuff in one chapter now can I ?Kinda gotta spread it out😏😂.
