"Okay, okay. You stay right here. I'll be back."
(Y/n) ran up stairs towards the bathroom and frantically searched for towels. She could hear him coughing and vomiting continuously. Finally she found towel in a closet and rushed back down stairs.
"Sean look at me." (Y/n) fell to her knees next to him.
He looked up at her breathing heavily and unsteady. Black tears fell from his eyes, and a black sticky liquid from his nose, and mouth. She held back her comments about his appearance and quickly went to helping him.
"I fookin hate him." He breathed.
"Here." She wiped some of his face till her took the towel and continued.
"Thank you, (Y/n)" His breathing calmed down.
She looked at the cake like mixture on the floor. "So what uh- what's that?"
"It's hatred is what it is."
"But really."
"Demons don't need food. Everything ye both ate today sat in me stomach. Because he was in control his acidic fluids didn't mix with the food so it turns into, well, that."
She stared at it intensely. "So this isn't the first time that happened?"
"Not the last either."
"How do we clean-"
The puddle of black began to smoke and travel up like steam. The smell was awful. A mixture of CO2 and road kill.
"We don't. It does that. Easiest part of cleaning up after him."
Together they sat there in silence taking in the event that had just occurred. The house grew darker as the sun finished setting. Only the light above the stove lit up part of the kitchen and an even smaller part of the living room.
"You know for such a loud person I've never seen you so quiet." (Y/n) broke the silence.
"I'm sorry- I'm not usually like this. It's funny, I did absolutely nothing all day but I'm exhausted."
She stood up and stretched her arms out. "Well, I'm not sure about you but I'm starving, and I'm feeling some take out-"
He looked up at her. "-And some video games?"
(Y/n) laughed. "That's the spirit! Find me the number, I'll order, and you can go shower, and then I'll kick your ass at Mario party."
He reached out for her help to stand up. "I hate to crush yer fortune cookie but I never lose."
"Until today." She put on her game face.
"Oh, IT. IS. ON." Sean rushed past her and up the steps.
___________________________________(Y/n) opened her eyes, with a star lit night sky coming into view with few clouds in the way. The moon was full, yet again. She sat up with sand sliding off of her back and hair.
"Must of fallen asleep again."
Next to her was the lantern she'd grown used to. She reached out and grabbed the handle only to feel a sticky texture on it. After placing her hand in the light (Y/n) realized it was blood, but obviously not hers.
"What the hell?"
The landscape around her was covered in sand with dead trees spread out. In front of her the trees seemed to become more dense. It was still some distance away from her. She stood up and grabbed the lantern once more making her way into the dark woods.
