The closer they became to the fire, the more they saw how far it actually stretched. He swept over the burning trees, just close enough not to get burned. Not again. She could feel how tense he became while they overlooked the fire.

"Any signs of— well, anyone?"

"Not quite. I'm still looking." He held his place in the sky while looking around.

A large tree nearby fell over causing him to back away in fear.

She gripped tightly onto him. "What happened?"

"I don't know, I'm going to see if I can get closer." He swooped down near an area with little to no fire.

Die studied the land around him. There was definitely more damage occurring that couldn't have just been the fire. Someone was purposely knocking over trees. Another tree suddenly fell. Both quickly looked in its direction.

"Anti..?" She spoke.

The pale skinned demon hopped up onto the broken tree not even reacting to the danger around him.

"What the hell is he doing down there?"

"Throwing a temper tantrum." Die laughed.

"You mean he did all of this?"

"I wouldn't doubt it. I've seen quite of few of these before."

"What should we do?"

"Just stay out of his way. He'll calm down eventually. For now, we should go and find, Sean."

(Y/n) took a deep breath, "Where ever that is.."

Die took off away from the flames. The last thing he needed was to be spotted by Anti. He knew why Anti was throwing the hissy fit but would leave it up to him to tell her about it.

After a few minutes of flying, he landed on top of a large rock. She slipped off his back and began to stretch herself out. "Did you see anything else before we landed?"

"No, I can't say I did." He held the end piece of his wings feeling around where the scars were filled in. "Maybe you can call out to him though?"

She laughed. "Yeah, I'm sure he'll hear me. Especially in this large, endless, landscape."

"Well, from what I already know about the pure heart, you and Sean have bonded, correct?"

"I mean yea, he's been at my side every day for the last few weeks.."

"So that means your souls have a connection. A soul connection. "

"Doesn't everyone have them? You know, friends, family, lovers?"

"This is a little different because of what you are. This connection gives you— it's like— okay it's like the premium package on something. You have what everyone else has, but just a better version of it."

"Oh yeah, what the cost?"

"Being on every demon's hot list, but that's beside the point. Your soul has bonded with Sean's. If you've spent enough time together you might have a strong enough connection to find him."

She sat down on the rock starring out at the rising smoke in the distance. "And how do I do that? Abracadabra and POOF he's here?"

"If only it were that simple. No, as far as I believe, it should be something only you could know. You mentioned before that the "direction" you're going is something you're usually pulled into, correct? You just take the lantern and go, right?"

"Yeah, generally. I feel it in my— chest.."

"So if I were to ask you, where you're being pulled to right now where would it be?"
