(Y/n) and Anti spent the evening reading through multiple books taking down any notes that could help them. The living room became a wreck with books scattered along with papers and scribbled writing. At the moment the two both sat on the couch. He leaned forward with a pen in hand, underlining words while she sat across on the floor with a highlighter in hand.

Every few minutes she'd look up at him wondering what he was thinking. She still had so many unanswered questions.

"Anti-"

"No." He shot her down instantly.

"What? You don't even know what I was going to say."

"Don't care." He closed the book he was working on and picked up another. "We have too much work to do."

She laid back onto the floor dragging her hands down her face. "We're been at it for hours. Can we take at least a small break?"

"Will a small break keep ye quiet for the rest of the night?"

"We won't know unless we try?"

He sighed deeply and placed his book back onto a pile. "What ever. I guess I could use a few minutes."

She sat up and closed her book. "Can I ask about what happened after you fought Dark?"

"What's there to know? I fought him, and then- yeah." He ended the sentence uneasily .

"And then what?"

"Ye did yer- little magic trick thing."

"You don't remember do you?"

"Of course I remember, I was there." He scoffed.

"Then what happened to Dark?" She smirked.

He knew he was cornered. "He uh- went away. I roughed him up real good."

"You fell into the pond and I dragged you out."

Anti stood up and began to pace the room. "Okay! So I don't have the best memory. Who cares? What are ye getting at?"

"What happened to you that you couldn't- you were just like an entire different person."

He sighed deeply. "Me body, me mind, I just kicked into survival mode."

"Does survival mode include talking in Latin because that's all you did."

"Ye wouldn't understand. Yer a human, I'm a demon. We're entirely two different beings."

She could hear the hint of annoyance coming off his words. She had to keep digging though. Maybe he knew more than he thought and it just had to be brought out.

"Well then help me understand."

Anti paused trying to think of ways to explain how demons behaved. He never had to explain it to a human before, but then again no human had ever had interest like her.

He took a seat again on the other side of the coffee table across from her, this time on the floor. "Okay, so demons. We're like beasts. We have abilities no other humans have, but just like humans there's different kinds of demons. All together we all have this- well- animal like instinct."

"But so do we?"

"It's not the same. Don't interrupt me. Anyways, It goes back to our roots. Sometimes we can't control it like humans do. Our minds go into over drive. Survival mode. We have several priorities on our mind and that's it. We will kill anything that stands in our way. Make sense?"
