Chapter 42: The Night Isn't Over Just Yet

Heidi's POV

Rebekah makes her way down to us and hands over the necklace, and the pocket watch to Ben, "I think these belong in the museum." Ben smiles and takes the two objects, "Mal, remember, evil isn't the way." Ben said trying to reason with Mal, "I know Ben, and that is why I am going to make sure that Quinn and her friends are escorted back to the Isle where they belong." Quinn stands back on her feet, "I will not go back there, the Isle is nowhere for a Queen." Lonnie and the other have rounded up the other members of the order, "Ben!" Quinn's yells, "Please, don't send me back there, I can change, I can do good." Quinn begged. I look at Ben and I can see that he really wants to believe that, "You always say that you are not your father, that you want to give our generation a chance to not be our parents." I am about to go to Ben but Harry stops me, "He's has to decide this one on this own love." I look on hoping Ben makes the right choice, "I do give your generation the chance to change." I can see a small smile forming on Quinn's lips, "You got a glimpse of what us kids go through every day, how can you as our king deem us to that kind of life?" I see Mal looking at Quinn is utter shock, "I guess I can't." Ben says with a sigh, 'Ben, she is just trying to guilt you into letting her stay here, if she stays here she will just try this whole thing again." Evie says standing next to Ben, "I thought you out of all people would understand how much parents pride is worth." Quinn snaps at Evie, "I do, but I have learned that self-worth and heart, are more important then what my mother thinks of what I have done with my life." Ben smiles at Evie with his own pride, Evie has come a long way. "Are you really going to deny me my chance at a better life, and my chance at redemption?" Quinn is putting Ben in a no-win situation, if she stays she can just keep trying to break the barrier and escape to Wonderland, but if Ben sends her back, he will be a hypocrite and seen as a not fit King. "Ben please, give me a chance." Quinn begs one final time. Ben was quite for the longest time, it is a tough spot to be in, "Ben we need to know what we are doing with them. I look over and notice that my brother is a part of the group. "Wait, you can't take my brother back, he helped us, without him and Harry we would have lost." Quinn smiles and I knew that played right into her trap, "Well then you can't just let two of them stay and send the rest of us back." I was not going to let Quinn do this to Ben anymore, I slide my hand out of Harry's and make my way in front of Ben, "Ben please listen to me, Quinn, JR, Winter, and Chelsea are all guilty of terrible things, they lied to you about peace, they stole from you, they almost killed us, they deserve their chance at redamation, but I think it's for the best if that isn't right now, maybe they can try and come back later down the road." Ben nods his head, "As King I declare that the Order of Chaos be sent back to Isle until I feel that it is appropriate for them to return." Lonnie nods his hands and her and her brother escort the gang outside. "Ben, what about Harry and Hadie?" I ask looking at him with all the hope in the world. "Harry is always welcome, as for your brother, after very careful thinking and much consideration, I have come to the conclusion that Hadie is more than welcome to stay here, but only if he wants to, it's his choice." I hug Ben tightly and kiss his cheek, "Ben, you are the best King that has ever lived." Ben's smile fades away and turns into a frown, "Once people on the Isle hear that I broke my own rules, they will revolt and deem me unfit to rule." I can see the sadness in his eyes, Ben always strides to be the best king he can be, "Ben, Quinn was just trying to get you to let her stay, and no offence but you weren't the most popular person back on the Isle to start with." Ben faces turns sadder, "There is no hope for Auradon and the Isle ever making peace." I place my hands on his shoulder, "Ben, look around, some kids from the Isle are meant to be here, but there are many kids on the Isle that would do more harm than good, which is why you have Evie, the council. And most of all the good heart of yours to help you make the right choice, and I for one think that you made the right choice." My speech helps cheer up Ben a little. "Plus, you did say that you would give them their chance just not now." Ben hugs me. "Thanks Heidi, I needed to hear that." I nod my head and bow to Ben, "We all should get going, we have dance to get ready for." Everyone walks out leaving Harry and I alone. "So, do you still want to be my date to the dance?" Harry asks rubbing the back of his neck, "I would love too, but I kind of got asked by someone else." Harry's eyes turn dark but sad, "Oh, I see, well I guess I can't get mad at you for going with someone else, after all I am the one that told you too." My heart hurts seeing Harry like this, "Who is he?" I tilt me head to side, "To be completely honest I have no idea, he is a secret admirer." Harry's face turns into a scowl, "I don't think I like this idea of you going off with someone that you don't know." I laugh a little and place a kiss on his lips, "I will be fine, I will see you at the dance, that is if you show up." I wink at him and make my way back to my dorm to get ready for a night that I never forget.
