|Narrator|
Christmas carols played on every street in the city of Seoul. It was minutes after dusk as the skies became cloudy blocking out the moonlight.
Lim Chaerin is known to be the 'it' girl at Seoul International Academy. Since on her first day of pre school she always had admirers. She had it all, the wealth, the looks, the attention. Yet all of these factors never faded the insecurities that lingered in her shadow.
She was well aware of her asshole-ish tendencies towards her peers, but that never stopped a bitter person yet.
What really burned her the most was knowing she could have anything and anyone besides Jeon Jungkook.
He was her everything, her peace of mind, when they dated during their eleventh year. Jungkook was the only person she didn't have to be perfect for.
The way he would just sit and admire her all day even if she wasn't doing anything. Giving her his attention no matter what they were doing. He was basically the perfect boyfriend.
Sometimes she would cry to herself in the shadows wondering why she would be so stupid to ruin something so precious. Most people never know what they have until they've lost it. She didn't mean to cheat on Jungkook. Just like how she never meant to get shit faced drunk and cheat on him at Vernon's party that summer. She didn't mean to be verbally abusive to Jungkook either.
Did she really love Jungkook or maybe she loved the fact that someone could possibly love her?
The ideology of love was foreign to girls like Chaerin, girls who didn't love themselves.
Chaerin watched from a distance with her face mask and fur hat covering the majority of her face at the group of male friends seated at the local pizzeria indulging themselves to three pies of pizza.
Jungkook appeared happy as he ate pizza and engaged in a soda drinking contest with Hoseok and Youngjae. His other friends Minhyuk and Rocky played in the arcade betting who ever won the most tickets would get the last slice.
Chaerin stood in the bitter cold outside the restaurant's revolving doors, the sight of Jungkook's smile instantly warming her heart.
The thought of Saniya came to her mind, Jungkook stared at her the same way he use to stare at Chaerin.
Chaerin didn't particularly like Saniya, but she didn't hate her. It was when she first saw Saniya she knew she was going to take the school by storm.
