Chapter 3: Familiar Faces (Lust)

"M-Mom...? M-Mistress...?" I heard Azura stutter. I followed his gaze and saw them. I recognized them from the reports I read. That was indeed the Mother and Mistress of Azura Otonashi.

"Hello. And welcome." A voice rang through the stadium. "Welcome to this Killing Game... or to be more clear it's more of a 'complete the mission' type of game." The voice said.

It was hard to determine if the voice was male or female since it switched between the two in a weird manner.

"Anyways, you should all know about the bracelets on your wrists. Those are the Mission Bangles. You will all be given a mission to achieve. Complete the mission, and you'll be rewarded a new area of the city. The missions though... are to kill. You'll all be given a target to kill. To open a new area you, the players, need to kill the target. Now some of you may be thinking, if we're in teams of two, can't we just kill our partner? No!"

I took a moment to look around. Teams of two? Theres teams in this? Thats when I noticed every cage had two people in each cage. Thats what they are talking about...

"Partners can't kill their partner! In fact... their job is to protect them! If they fail and their partner dies though... you'll be given a penalty. Don't worry though! It's not death! It'll be... a surprise." The voice says.

"So to simplify the rules, Kill or Protect the Target! If you manage to Kill the Target then you'll go to the next area!" They say happily. "Oh I almost forgot... the missions are timed. Now theres no need to worry. If you don't kill the target in time you don't lose! The target will just be randomly switched to someone else! That's all! ...Have fun." The voice says in a creepy tone before the gas that keeps knocking us out came from beneath our feet and made us fall to sleep once more.

This game... it can't be like mine... this was a fresh idea... not the Detective Hunt... not the Killing Game... this...

This was the Survival Game.
