The woman in front of me had full black hair besides her tips that were white. She seemed to be younger than me which was a bit of a surprise. Her attire consisted of a full black dress with white thigh high socks and black high heel boots. She wore black gloves that reached her elbows and the areas of the glove that her knuckles were had a tint of white. Her attire was just a mix of black with some white bleeding through. The only thing that wasnt black or white were her eyes. Bright red eyes.
"You've kept me waiting Azura Otonashi." Her voice was as smooth as silk. Suki might be jealous of how soothing her voice was.
But I knew better. This woman was the one. The Mastermind.
I honestly didn't know what to say to her. I've seen many Masterminds but I just didn't know what to say. There were none. I've never met this woman before.
This was it. The Mastermind.
"I should reward you for making it here in one piece." She smiles and sits down in her seat, tilting her head at me "I bet you'd like to know everything? I'm sure your friends are fine. You are confident in them, no?" She giggles. "Please. Relax. Take a seat."
I was hesitant. I've seen weirder things. I could sense she wasn't planning a trap or anything. With a sigh I took a seat across from her on the other side of the desk.
Why must I always be in a chair one way or another?
"Now... I think I should start with why I brought everyone here. I can guess you noticed it couldn't be coincidence that everyone is connected one way or another here. Especially all connected to you." She closes her eyes.
"Let's begin with you. Go back. Way back. Before this started."
...It hit me. "The usb containing the clip of Suki. That's how you got me here." I say calmly.
"Good job. Most of the others weren't too hard. Now it's true that everyone else were already residents here but how do you think I got them to get here in the first place?"
That one was actually simple by thinking about it "Well... one way or another we're criminals technically. We would fit right in with a city filled with other criminals, outcasts, and such. Plus. This was one of the few remaining cities that weren't overruned... obviously that was false. You were here waiting if I had to guess." I sigh
"Correct again. Speaking of all those citizens... what do you think happened to them? They just suddenly dissapeared!" She crosses her legs and folds her hands.
"...I had a suspicion... but I'm sure this is correct. You made them all into Followers. I found it a bit odd how suddenly the city was overruned with people wearing those damn helmets." I blink at her, seeing her nod
"You haven't missed a beat. It's like you're still in Hope's Peak! For someone who isn't a Detective you're good at deducing things." She compliments me
"I've always been good at noticing small details. I've got an eagle eye." I reply blankly.
"Is that your red one or brown one?" She whispers just loud enough so I could hear. She was trying to make me mad.
"Speaking of which, I must thank you. You took care of that traitorous bastard for me."
"Arvo mentioned that. He used to be a member of Ultimate Despair." I put my hand over my eyepatch that covered my red eye.
"It's true. He didnt serve under me or Angel but he was a member. He looked up to her a lot. Found her intresting. She was unique. A special case. I had a feeling he was going to betray us one day after Angel fell to Shadow Saito and Kanye Nakahara." She sighs. "I might as well explain his role in all of this. He was under command to kill you. We allowed him to do what he wanted with you as long as you were dead. But... it seemed he had his own agenda. He went rogue to complete the Ultimate Killing Machine Project. It seemed he somewhat completed it although you seem to still have some control... but I bet that insane side of you is in there just waiting to burst free once again." She chuckles "Him going rogue was a problem and we honestly didn't want him to complete the Project but he's gone now... so it's whatever. Not that it matters much." She shrugs and shakes her head slightly.
"...You said we a few times. And I have a feeling you dont mean you and Ultimate Despair. I feel like you mean you and someone else." I glare at her "What's your goal? What's your purpose in doing all this? Everyone has a motive for what they do. But I can't pin what yours is. I highly doubt you're doing this for shit and giggles and to have your own game like Angel and the Remnants."
"...I confess. My motive... it's for my beloved. It's for the one true Despair." Her eyes shone and she sat back in her chair holding herself. It was like there was heart in her eyes. I was getting a major Suki vibe from her back when Suki was a member of Ultimate Despair. "He wanted you gone. He wanted you and your friends dead. So I took on this role to make sure it happened." She shivers
"Speaking of them... I wonder if everything is going well on his side." She slowly grins. That grin... it gave off a bad signal.
What did she mean?
"You know... I wonder if the Remnants have been reverted back yet to Hope?"
Oh no...
"How..."
I got cut off
"How do I know about it? That's none of your concern. What should be your concern is... if that singer you adore is alive."
My heart stopped.
Atsuki? What did she say about Atsuki?!
"That's right... I wonder if the Killing Game of Despair has begun yet. You're lovely girlfriend and your cosplay friend are in trouble!"
My eyes widened. I couldn't move. My heart stopped.
Atsuki? Ren?
...Killing Game?
...
My heart began beating quickly.
Before everything went white.
"I am the Mastermind of The Shitai Game. Shiro Burraku."
