"Really?" Wilmer questioned and Joe nodded his head gently, he could feel Demi's hands tighten in his. He was relieved that she was here, he wanted her around whilst he went through this, even if it was just as a friend. She was still someone special to him and he was going to reach out to find her anyway. He was sure he wanted her around, if she wanted to be around.
"I'm doing a show tonight but it's gonna be the last one for a while... We're gonna announce after the show that the band is temporary breaking up whilst I get myself better then maybe one day in the future we'll get back together and tour the album we just released." Joe explained.
"When you starting your treatment?" Demi questioned but they all sat down in he quiet corner. They were making sure that they were keeping their voices down.
"Did they find it early?" Wilmer questioned and Joe shrugged his shoulders gently.
"They don't know yet but I'm starting treatment tomorrow morning trying to shrink the tumor before I go into surgery to remove it completely." Joe explained.
"You're gonna feel like shit for a while then." Demi stated and Joe nodded his head gently.
"Yep but I already feel like that most of the time so it's not much of a difference." Joe shrugged his shoulders.
"We're gonna go out for a smoke, let yo two catch up a bit." Nick stated patting Joe's back gently and he nodded his head saying goodbye to them before they wandered off. They quickly ordered them all a drink too before they continued with conversation.
"I'm just glad you're here, I was going to try and reach out to you anyway. You're still my best friend and I want you here too if you can." Joe stated.
"Of course I will! I'll try my best. I've wanted to meet up with you for a couple of years because I missed you loads. I just didn't know how to get to you." Demi admitted.
"That doesn't matter now, we're reunited anyway." He grinned slightly and Demi laughed as they shared another hug Demi leaning his head on his chest listening to the steady beating of his heart. She was worried about him. She was worried about how unwell he was going to feel and look for a while. She was scared of losing him just as she got him back.
"I'm so scared." Joe admitted to her and Demi pulled away from him looking up at him.
"You're bound to be scared Joe but you'll be just fine, you've got the support of your friends and family but the fans too. They adore you and they'll help you through this just as much as we can."
"I know." Joe breathed.
"You're gonna be just fine okay? If you need anyone to talk to then I'm here. Just because we're not a couple anymore, it doesn't mean I can't be here for you." Demi urged and she awed slightly as he started crying but she brought him back into another hug rubbing his back gently.

Wilmer and Nick soon entered the diner again and they all sat down and talked, catching up with one another as they drank their coffee and had a little bit of lunch, Joe didn't have much of an appetite but he ate as much as he could. They only started to say goodbye when it was clear Joe was getting tired and when he was tired, more seizures happened.
"You have my number right?" Demi questioned as she pulled away from a hug and Joe nodded his head gently.
"Yup, it's already saved in my phone. Nick has it too so he can send you updates if I'm not able to." Joe answered and he smiled as she leaned up kissing his cheek gently.
"God I'm glad I have you back," Demi replied and Joe cracked a small smile. "Have a good show alright?"
"I will, who knows? It could be my last one." Joe breathed.
"Don't think like that Joe." Nick urged and Wilmer couldn't help but nod his head in agreement.
"I have to think like that otherwise I'm gonna go insane, I don't want to hide myself from the truth that I might not be here this time next year." Joe urged back.
"You'll fight as hard as you can, we all know that much." Demi praised and they all headed out of the diner and back towards their cars. Nick held the door open for Joe shutting it behind him when he was safely inside.
"Come to tonight's show, both of you. He'd love to see you there if you're free." Nick stated and they both turned to one another.
"I'd love to come." Demi praised.
"Me too." Wilmer agreed.
"Great, you know where it is. I'll make sure you're names are both on the lists and we'll see you backstage at some point." Nick praised and they both smiled as they shared hugs. they both waved to Joe before they went you're separate ways.
"I'm amazed." Joe admitted and Nick laughed.
"Well, it was her. And I know you still love her." Joe sighed nodding his head gently. His eyes were on Demi and Wilmer who had gotten into the car. They were both laughing and having a good time. The love between them was clear.
"Yes but he's good for her and that's all I can ask." Joe breathed as they drove away waving to Demi and Wilmer again.
