"What's changed your mind? What has your parents said?" Joe demanded to know but Demi shook her head avoiding eye contact from him. She didn't want him to hate her but she had to be honest with him. Their relationship had never been full of lies. They had always been honest with one another.

"Nothing, I just thought about everything they said, everything you're parents said and they are right," Demi answered. "We're way over our heads here Joe. We're fourteen, we can't be parents. We're in school for another three years then we have college to look forward to. We can be parents but just when we're older and we're not kids ourselves. Our parents are right, we're too young." Demi explained finally looking up at him. She could see a mixture of hurt and confusion on his expression.

"I thought we were gonna try though." Joe spoke the disappointment clear in his tone.

"I just think adoption is best for us and the baby." Demi demanded.

"Well, if you don't want the baby then I know for sure I can't do it by myself. I guess I don't have much of a choice do I." Joe mumbled going to walk away but Demi grabbed his hand dragging him back a little bit.

"Joe please, don't run away from me." Demi begged.

"I've been fighting Demi, I've been fighting my parents because I thought we both decided we want this baby. I just don't know what to say Demi. I need some time alone."

"I know it's a surprise but I can help you through this like you will me. We'll both decide who's adopting the baby, we'll make sure that they are okay for our little boy or girl. We can still do this all together." Demi encouraged.

"I don't want to do all that together Demi, I want to raise our baby together. I know we're young but we'll learn like we do everything else." Joe urged hoping to change her mind.

"Joe..." Demi trailed off.

"Please Demi, I just want to give it ago. If he or she comes and we struggle with money or being parents to our baby then I promise we'll consider it." Joe begged slightly and Demi paused her eyes on the ground but she looks up.

"I'm sorry Joe, we can't. I want us to have as normal lives as we can for our age. It's just not suitable." Demi replied.

"Fine then," Joe grumbled heading down the hallway. "Just never talk to me again!"

"Joe please!" She called after him but he didn't even turn back once before he turned the corner. Demi tried to go after him but once they got into the crowded hallways she lost him.

Demi was surprised when Joe didn't turn up to any of his classes. She thought it would be an easy way to make him talk to her but he had gone home claiming to Denise that he wasn't feeling very well. He spent the whole day up in his room not doing much other than thinking. Denise left him to it but it was about four when Denise came through with a tray.

"You need to eat Joseph." Denise demanded.

"I'm not hungry." Joe mumbled and Denise sighed leaving the tray on the bedside table for him in case he started to feel hungry. She looked at her son curled up on his bed looking miserable, she knew she couldn't leave him and not try and sooth him.

"What's wrong Joseph?" Denise demanded to know sitting on the edge of the bed. Joe didn't say anything for a moment but he thought for a moment knowing he couldn't keep it from her forever. It seemed like Demi had made her mind up.

"Can I transfer school?" Joe questioned.

"But why? Talk to me Joseph." Denise encouraged.

"Demi wants to give the baby up for adoption but I still really want to give it a go." Joe admitted and Denise sighed.

"I know you do Joe but we honestly don't think you're quite realizing how hard it's going to be to be able to afford the baby as well as keeping up with school. Demi has probably thought it through now the excitement is gone. It just seem suited at the moment. Maybe if you were both a little older but not now."

"I always wanted to be a dad." Joe mumbled.

"And you will be in the future when you're older and you know more about life and you can comfortably earn money and provide for your child. Don't grow up too quickly Joseph." Joe sighed nodding his head gently.

"Well, I don't have a choice in the matter now anyway." Joe grumbled and Denise was about to speak again when the door swung open and Kevin appeared inside.

"Joe! Mom!" He exclaimed. "The label Nick is working with saw the song we wrote with Nick and they want to sign us as a band!" Kevin exclaimed.

"No way!" Joe exclaimed sitting up. "Really?!" Kevin nodded his head quickly.

"They want to see us all now." He demanded and Denise smiled as they both started to panic slightly to get ready.
