Chapter 5     ‘Letter’s and a trip to Diagon Alley’

The letters contained something that would give everyone a different type of feeling; some would be sad while at the same time some would be jumping up and down with excitement like Ron and Hermione respectively.

 Ron still had the same sanctified expression on his face even after half an hour, Harry and Evanna seemed fine while Hermione, on the other hand, had a transfixed wide grin on her face which remained there for mostly the whole day.

The horrifying things written inside the letters were their results for the Ordinary Wizarding Level Exams!!!

Evanna had opened the envelope which had her name written on it with elegant writing. She opened it with shaking hands as she expected everything; good grades plus bad ones.

They didn’t look at each other after they had opened their envelopes. All of them got busy with reading their results and going to different corners of the lounge to read it.

That was what Evanna had gotten;

Transfiguration: E

 Evanna squeaked just after she had finished reading her result and Hermione came, half jumping all her way to her and they both together squeaked and jumped in a circle while holding hands.

Evanna was pretty pleased with what she had achieved. She wasn’t as bright as Hermione but she wasn’t dull as well. She had only received a bad grade in History of Magic which she was already expecting so she wasn’t shocked to see a dreadful in it.

Evanna didn’t ask anyone else’s result as she didn’t felt good doing that and no one asked hers’ except Hermione who couldn’t keep her excitement controlled and was asking all of them while telling about her own grade in every subject she asked about. Evanna merrily gave Hermione her letter so she could see it for herself which she returned with a congratulating smile and a tight hug as she couldn’t control her excitement. Hermione had been waiting for the results for a long time and she was quite excited to see them at last.  

Just as they had stopped jumping around like a frog, Mrs. Weasley arrived from her room where she had gone for a nice afternoon sleep to relax after Fleur had left for work.

“What’s the whole noise!” she exclaimed placing her hands on her back and looking at all of them with narrowed eyes and scanning the whole room.

Ron hid his letter behind his back just as he saw that Mrs. Weasley started her scanning with him.

“And what are you hiding there, Ronald?” she asked coming forward to him and presenting her hand so he would place the letter on it.

With one of his weird still amusing expressions on his face and with shaking hands, Ron placed the letter which contained his result on her hand.
