Chapter 27

As I enter I see Brad walking around in nothing but just a towel wrapped around in his waist.

"What the hell do you think you are doing hanging around in here, just in a towel?" my voice booms.

He gets startle by it and look towards me "Jesus man, give a guy freaking break, can't you announce before coming over" he snaps.

"It's my" I start but get interrupted.

"Yap, your dear wife's apartment and who just puked the whole chicken soup on me. Damn, you two will be death of me I have a very weak heart dude and I definitely don't want to die bachelor, thank you very much" he states.

I blink at him "She's in the couch not well and before you try to go all hulk on me let me tell you, I called you but you didn't pick up and yes taken her to the hospital it's just fever and common cold must be gone in few days" he explains calmly.

I pass through him to see her wrapped up in a blanket curled on the couch watching TV.

"Babe" I try to get her attention without startling her.

She looks at me then again back at TV, I hesitate to go near her what if she don't want me here, just then she snaps her head again towards me while throwing the blanket and running to me before she jumps on me holding me tight.

"You are back" she whispers and I hug her tight as well.

She trembles and keep saying sorry, I walk us to the couch and sit with her still wrapped around me.

"Ssh, it's OK don't think about it OK? Just calm down" I soothe her back. Finally, I can hold her to me and its heaven.

"Are you just going to stand there looking at us or you going to go put some damn clothes" I glare at Brad who just winks at me when Sarah puts her head on my chest and peeks at Brad. I close her eyes with my hands

"No-uh no peeking at other male's body " I order her and Brad laughs before leaving us alone.

I held her for a bit and look at her "took your medicine?" I ask her softly and she nods. I try to get up but she holds me tight and whine.

"Just going to take you to bed sweetness" I state to her but she shakes her head, so I pull the blanket up and I sit on the couch with her on my lap.

After some comfortable position she falls asleep and listening to her breath I fall asleep as well. It's been long I haven't had slept and it feels good having her back in my arms.

I wake up hearing some sound and try to stand up but then realize Sarah is still in my lap. I pick her up and go to her room. She stirs but then goes back to sleep.

I move to the kitchen "hey want some coffee?" Brad asks and set a cup for me.

"So how come you are here? Obviously you didn't come because she wasn't well" he mocks at me.

"Stay away from this Brad it's none of your business" I spat.

"Yap, it's not till you hurt her" he says back. "Don't worry I'm not here to hurt her more then I already have" I rub my face tiredly.

We sit in silence and sip our coffee when Sarah enters "Kyle?"

I get up from my place and go to her "Babe, what are you doing here? Do you want something come on in the bed it's not good for you to walk"

I tug her but she hugs me to her and shakes her head, so I pick her up and move to tuck her in here bed.

"You seem weak I will go and bring you something to eat ok?" I say and try to get up but Sarah holds my hand and speaks softly.
