Chapter 4

Conflicted

Leo POV

Oh thank the gods. I didn't want to answer that question. I was almost trapped but then Jason interrupted saying I had a visitor.

I wonder who's here to see me.

Jason said this person was waiting for me outside of my cabin. Probably some sibling of mine who wanted help with a project.

Maybe it's Calypso... shutup. There's no way that's possible.

Of course I said that but I didn't mean it. I was already sprinting to my cabin without being fully aware of my actions. I stopped when I was about 10 feet from the cabin who I saw surprised me even more so than Calypso.

How sad it's not Callie... But what is Reyna doing here? I'm sure she has important praetor duties back in new Rome. Hmmmm oh well, best go talk to her.

"Reyna?"

"Hello, Leo Valdez."

" You're not here to kill me for burning down your camp, are you? Because that was an accident. I was possessed. "

" I know you were, Piper explained everything to me. Besides I couldn't kill a demigod who helped save New Rome. Along with the world."

Hearing that Piper had explained everything to Reyna caught me off guard. I thought she still held a grudge for taking Jason, maybe she's over Jason, but that still leaves Percy and Annabeth...I wonder why she's here.

" So Reyna, what's up? "

" Nothing much, just decided to visit the camp and say hi to everyone. "

Reyna seemed to be telling the truth but her eyes wandered, avoiding my gaze.

Something's wrong...she seems off today.

Of course as I thought that, but then Chiron came by and asked her to go to the Big House to discuss her staying here. Apparently she hadn't told Chiron she was coming.

" Yes of course, Chiron. I'll meet you there. "

Chiron walked away, his hooves tracking dirt and making hoof shapes in the ground.

" Well I've got to go Leo, how's about we continue this conversation later?"

" Uh... Sure. How about the Lake at 6?"

" Sure. Just meet me at Piper's cabin."

She walked away mumbling something.

Oh gods! I've a date with Reyna!

Okay, okay. Chill. She just wants to talk. Reyna hates me anyway, Right?

I walked back to the forge to get my mind off of what the hades just happened.

*Fast Forward. 5:30. The Forge*

I'd been working on Festus all day. I was making good progress. His torso was already finished and I'd started working on his wings. I checked my watch. *5:35. I figured I should get ready. I changed my greasy, oil-stained work shirt into a fresh white shirt. Slipped on my black jeans, tool belt, and shoes. With that I was on my way to meet Reyna.

I need to keep this as platonic as possible. I like Calypso. Reyna hates me anyway. Then again, it's a little convenient Chiron popped up when he did. Maybe Reyna planned this...

I had arrived at the Aphrodite cabin. I knocked on the door and heard Piper's voice.

" Who is it?" She asked.

" It's Leo, I'm here to pick up Reyna."

I heard giggling and a few good lucks through the door. Then Reyna walked out and gods she looked gorgeous. Her hair was curled, she was wearing a purple dress, heels, and a blue necklace that really brought out her eyes.

Stop it Leo.

But she looks amazing.

Dude, platonic thoughts.

But...

You're just friends. What would Callie say?

Shutup.

As I was arguing with my self Reyna looked dead at me and seemed worried about her outfit.

" Too much?" Reyna asked.

" Oh no! It's fine, you look great!"

She blushed.

Oops...

" So, the lake?" Reyna seemed excited her eyes sparkling and cheeks as red as roses.

" Yeah. Shall we go?"

She linked her arm with mine and we started towards the lake.

" Yeah let's go, Leo. "

Leo? What happened to Leo Valdez?

We walked in silence and had finally arrived at the lake. We sat in the sand and Reyna began to ask me a question.

" Leo?"

" Yeah?"

" Do you like me?"

" Of course I do. You're a really strong girl who carries herself with pride and you're an amazing praetor. I'm glad we're friends. "

"Oh..."

She seemed to have a hint of sadness in her voice and stared at the lake, losing herself in thought. It then hit me like a piece of celestial bronze.

Oh no, Reyna likes me.

Dude, what now?

I don't know! What do I say?!

Before I could finish arguing with my self Reyna inched closer to me our cheeked almost touching. I'd expected her to punch me and then walk away. But that's not what happened. She turned her head and looked me in the eyes. Then our lips crashed.

Stop it! Stop it now Leo! Think about Calypso!

With that, I grabbed Reyna's shoulders and pulled away from her.

" Reyna? What are you..."

" I'm kissing you Leo and I'm going to do it again. "

She leaned in but I stopped her.

" Reyna I'm sorry but... I can't. "

I got up and walked away from the lake. Leaving Reyna there alone to sit in the sand. I walked to my cabin to get some sleep. I opened the door and dove onto my bed. Instantly falling asleep.

I'm gonna be honest here, I'm sad that I wrote this.

Don't worry, CaLeo will always be my OTP, but I also ship Leyna.
