Chapter 36

Rules to my Relationship.

Leo POV

" Alrightey then. Let's begin! " The goddess of love pulled out her pink pen and clipboard. Her eyes reading whatever she wrote with unmatched speed.

" Alright Leo. Rule number 1. " She set the clipboard on her lap and the pen behind her ear.

" Lay it on me. " I smiled and she returned it with her own.

" Never will you ever turn down a kiss from a Calypso. Unless you two are having a bet that states otherwise. "

" Sounds easy enough. " Kissing Calypso? Easy.

" Rule number 2. Never will you ever have second thoughts about your relationship. She loves you and you love her. End of story. Got it? " Aphrodite looked back down at her clipboard.

" Harder than you make it sound, but I can do that. " How was I not supposed to be insecure? When I'm against a guy like Percy it's hard not to question our relationship.

" Rule number 3. You are not to cheat on Calypso. If you so much as have an indecent thought about another female, I will personally set you straight. " Aphrodite's tone of voice was a lot scarier than I thought it could be.

" I would never. " My confidence didn't waver which made me happy.

" Rule number 4. Always be a proper gentleman in front of Calypso. Getting the door, walking on the outside of the sidewalk, that sort of thing. " Aphrodite winked at me.

" I can definitely do that. "

" Finally, never leave her alone. Always be by her side. As her lover you are to protect her at all costs. Oh, and always respect and consider her opinions and point of views for any situation. Are we clear? " She grabbed the pen behind her ear.

" Crystal. " I said.

" Good. Now that I'm done here I believe she wanted to have a conversation with you. " Aphrodite pointed to the other probable goddess in the room.

As if on cue, she stood and I could finally see what she was wearing. She was dressed in a full set of bronze roman armor. She had a red sash draped across her chest that began at her left shoulder and fell to her waist. A red plumed helmet hung from her belt. The swords she had swayed with her movement. She wore strapped sandals that laced around her ankle. No doubt in my mind that here, amongst the Greek gods, stood a roman goddess.

" So...you are Leo Valdez...for some reason I expected more from a son of Vulcan. " The goddess carried herself with pride as she walked towards me.

" Vulcan? I'm a son of Hephaestus. " Naturally, my cluelessness made her smirk.

" They are the same being. " She stated.

Duh Leo.

She stopped right in front of me and met my eyes. " Allow me to introduce myself. I am Bellona, roman leader and Goddess of War. "

Wait a minute...Bellona...isn't she...oh Hades.

" It has come to my understanding that my daughter Reyna has accumulated romantic feelings for you. " Her hand neared the gladius strapped to her left leg.

" Ummmm she has? " I took a couple steps back out of nervousness. Here stood a goddess 0f war. Possibly angry and about to kill me because I don't love her daughter.

She unsheathed her left gladius.

" Yes, she has. Though I'm not sure why. You don't seem very worthy of a Praetor. "

Boy was she right. There's no way I could've kept up with Reyna.

" I agree with you Bellona. I'm not really sure what Reyna sees in me either. " I gulped. The point of her gladius met my throat.

" Something about you having a big heart and being able to understand her. She said that even if you didn't love her back, she would still love you. " Bellona resheathed her gladius. Could Reyna really have said that?

" She said that? " My fingers began to fidget.

" Yes. She said you were there for her when she needed help and someone to see her as more than just a Praetor. " Bellona turned and made her way back to her temporary throne. She crossed her legs when she sat.

" Well I was just being there when she needed me. I just wanted to help and put a smile on her face. What are friends for, right? " I made my way back to the center of the room.

" Your philosophy is correct, Leo Valdez. A friend should always help another in a time of need. Maybe you are indeed worthy of my daughter's heart. " She stared at me with some serious killer intent. Enough to match Ares...or Mars...whatever you get the point.

" Ummmm thanks. " Really Leo?! That's all you can manage?!

" You are welcome. Now if you'll excuse me, I have matters to attend to. Goodbye, Zeus, Aphrodite, and you Leo Valdez. " A flash lit the room and I closed my eyes. Once I opened them she was gone.

" Oh Leo, your love life is going to be very interesting. " Aphrodite winked at me and let out a small laugh.

Zeus' voice made me jump as it reverberated through the room.

" Indeed it will be. Now please, leave us and send in Calypso." Zeus gestured toward the door and I could see Callie standing outside.

She turned and we walked towards each other. " So how'd it go? " she asked.

" Eh, nothin much. A couple rules, conditions, and I met Reyna's mom. "

Her eyes widened.

" You met Bellona?!" Her voice made my ears ring.

" Yeah. But don't worry, it wasn't bad. "

" I'm glad your okay. So is it my turn? "

" It sure is Sunshine. "

" Can I have a kiss for good luck? " she got closer to me.

Aphrodite's words echoed in my mind,

Never will you ever turn down a kiss from Calypso...

" Of course. " I said. I grabbed her and we kissed for a couple seconds before getting a cough from Zeus. we separated and Calypso frowned.

" Sorry, but Zeus is rushing us. Good luck! "

" Thanks Leo. "

" Love you. " I said.

" Love you more. " She replied.

We walked in separate directions and once I was outside the doors slowly closed behind me. I caught one last glimpse of Calypso standing in the center of the room. I hope she has it easier than I do.
