Chapter 15

A new project.

Leo POV

It's been 3 days since my " discussion" with the Zeus. I woke up this morning and went straight to the forge. It had also been 3 days since I'd spent time with Calypso. Apparently she was training rigorously with Percy in the Arena. I miss her.

I should go see her...

I thought.

Yes Leo, you should!

Aphrodite? Again?

Don't act so surprised! Go see Calypso!

With that, I threw off my welding mask, set down my tools, walked out of the forge and made my way to the Arena. On my way there I picked some flowers and placed them in a vase I took from the Demeter cabin. I arrived at the arena and walked through the main entrance. When I did, I heard swords clashing, saw sparks flying, and saw two very tired, sweaty, and hungry looking demigods. Percy guarded and dodged. He ended up behind Calypso and had the tip to the back of her neck.

" Looks I win again."

Percy said. He capped his pen-sword Riptide and talked to Calypso.

" You've made good progress in the last 3 days Calypso. I'm impressed." Before he could continue, Percy saw me and made sure Calypso didn't.

" You can have the rest of the day off. Rest up for capture the flag tomorrow. Okay?"

" I will, thanks Percy." Calypso said.

Gods she looked tired. She turned around and saw me. Her jaw dropped and she tackled me with a hug. How she still managed to smell like cinnamon amazed me. She pulled away from me after a long hug.

" Are these flowers for me?" her eyes widened and I could see the bags under them. She needed rest.

" Of course Sunshine! Who else would they be for?" I asked

She pulled me in for another hug and I felt her head rest on my shoulder.

" Leo?" Her breath tickled my ear.

" Yeah Sunshine?" I asked

" Can I go sleep in your bunker?"

" You don't have to ask for that."

I picked her up and carried her princess style. She rested her head on my shoulder and fell asleep on the way to the bunker. When I reached the doors I wasn't able to open them since I was carrying Calypso.

" Computer. Master ID: Leo Valdez.

Password: Leo, Jason, and Piper. "

" Password accepted."

The steel doors swung open and I walked to the main room. I set Calypso on the bed and decided to take a shower. When I got out I found Percy waiting for me, sitting on one of the workbenches. I forgot I gave him access to this place.

" Hey Perce. What's up?" I asked

" Leo, I've got a new project for you." He said.

I couldn't help but get excited, I haven't worked on anything new since Festus.

" Alright, what is it?" I tried to hide my excitement but my fingers started tapping against my knee.

" It's a sword. For Calypso."

" For Calypso? What's wrong with the one she was using earlier?"

" It doesn't fit her perfectly, neither do any of the other 299 in the Arena armory. It's funny. That's what happened to me. " he said. He smirked and chuckled.

" Alright, any ideas?" I asked.

" I'm leaving all of the details to you. Make the material unique and have it perfectly balanced for her. Think you can handle that?"

I grinned. I knew the perfect material for Calypso's sword.

" I think I can. "

" Alright, later Leo." Percy stood and walked out of the bunker.

I crawled into bed next to Calypso and prayed to my dad before I fell asleep.

" Hephaestus. I need to talk to you. "

I drifted to sleep and dreamt. I found myself on Ogygia. With my dad by my side.

" Hello Leo! I understand you wanted to come here for Calypso's sword. " his eyes were the color of melted metal.

" I did, this is perfect!" I sprinted to Calypso's cave and found the giant blue crystal that Calypso had chipped for me to get back here. Hephaestus suddenly appeared behind me and I jumped.

" Is there enough of this to make a sword with?" I looked my dad in the eyes.

" Should be. " He examined the crystal

" It would be about 5 ft long. " he said.

" But Leo, this crystal is the Heart of Ogygia. You take it and the island will disappear, for good. Zeus will be mad if Reyna wins and there is no island for Calypso to return to."

" I'll take my chances. " I said.

Hephaestus grabbed the crystal with both hands and the island rumbled, beginning to collapse.

" Let's go Leo." We teleported and I woke up to find myself standing next to Hephaestus in the camp Forge. He set it down next to my work station and looked at me.

" Crystal is a very delicate material. Don't use your usual steel tools, use your lighter magnesium ones."

" I don't have magnesium tools..." I said

" Are you sure?" He pointed to my workbench and I saw a new set of magnesium tools. I smiled.

" Thank you, Hephaestus."

" Leo, call me dad."

A blinding golden light flashed and I turned away, when it was gone I turned around to find myself alone on the forge. I got to work immediately, I finally had a new project.

Soooo... Yeah. Ogygia is gone and Leo is making a crystal sword for his girlfriend. Vote and comment!
