Chapter 64

My mom too?

Calypso POV

Never had I been so nervous then at that moment. So many questions filled my head. What if she doesn't like me? What if she thinks Leo can do better? What if she doesn't approve of me marrying her son? What if she hates me for even thinking I could love leo without first asking her?

There I stood. In front of a gorgeous women with oil stains on her t-shirt and cheeks. The woman whom I hoped liked me.

Leo's voice brought me back.

" Mom, this is Calypso. The girl I went on and on about when we talked. "

I held out my hand for a shake, but instead got a hug from Leo's mom.

" If you two are going to be married, then just call me mom. " I smiled and hugged her back. Happy couldn't even explain what I felt. Leo's mom released me and stared at me for a short while.

" Goodness. You're even prettier than Leo said you were. " I blushed and my smile remained plastered on my face.

" and you do smell like cinnamon. " She pointed out. " Is it perfume? "

" I don't wear that. " I said.

" Shampoo? Soap? " She asked again.

" Not at all. I don't know why, but I suppose it's natural for me. " I held Leo's hand again. Maybe it's because of the time I spent gardening on Ogygia...

" Interesting. " She looked at Leo " I'm going to steal your girlfriend for a little bit Leo. I need to ask her some questions and catch up on what you've been up to since we last talked. "

I was a bit flustered at first. What could she possibly want to know?

Leo walked over to the old car in the room and grabbed a toolbox. His face changed from his mischievous grin to his adorably determined " I'm going to fix this no matter what" look. Gods he's so cute when he's like that.

" So Calypso. " Leo's Mom's voice rang through my ears.

" Yes? " I asked.

" What's my son like in a relationship? Any different than when he's with his friends or alone? "

I shook my head. " Not at all! He's still the funny, sweet, kindhearted, and troublemaking person whether he's with or without me. I don't change him and he doesn't change me. " I smiled.

" If you could change something about Leo, what would it be? "

Easy. " Nothing. He's perfect the way he is. I wouldn't try to change anything about him. Whether it's looks, clothes, personality...nothing. "

She smiled at me. " I hate worrying about him...can you answer one more question for me? "

" Of course! Anything. " I replied.

" Is Leo strong? Is he able to protect himself and you? Along with all his friends? "

" Your son is amazingly strong. Not just physically...but emotionally too. He tries to protect all of his friends on his own but forgets that we can all fight our own battles. Myself included. " I blushed a tiny bit. " It seems Leo practices the art of the selfless without even realizing that he is. "

She sighed. " Oh that boy. It seems he turned out as best he could without me being there. Maybe, he didn't need me after all. " Her voice slowly quieted and she looked at the ground.

I placed my hand on hers and she looked at me. " He may not have needed you, but he sure as Hades wanted you there. Not a day goes by where he's not thinking of you. Or how different his life is had you been there. He loves you. "

She smiled and pulled me in for a hug. I hugged her back and smiled at her when she let me go.

" Now that you mention it, Leo recently saved all of us from the Snow Goddess Khione and her father, the God of Winter, Boreas. Though, he did get help from Hephaestus. "

She shook her head.

" After all these years. He's still getting himself into trouble. "

I laughed and so did she.

" Callie? " I heard Leo speak my name and I smiled at him. He was frowning, which meant it was time for us to go.

Leo and his mom said a goodbye and she turned to me.

" But I don't want to leave..." Leo smirked.

" I don't either, but hey, what can you do? "

" You two are perfect. Calypso, make sure this boy doesn't do anything too crazy. Keep him in check for me. " I nodded and she hugged me once more.

" Leo? Take care of her. You don't need me to tell you she's the best thing to happen to you. I approve of you two one hundred percent. I better be the first one to get an invitation to the wedding. " Leo laughed and hugged his mom goodbye.

Hades coughed in the distance.

Leo and I waved a final goodbye and before I knew it, were back in Leo's Bunker.

After we thanked him and Hades left, I tackled Leo onto the bed.

" That was so amazing! I'm so glad she likes me! " I nuzzled my head into his chest and hugged him tightly.

" I told you she would. Now what do you want to do? " Leo ran his fingers through his hair.

" I say we do what Aphrodite expected us to. " I looked up to meet his eyes.

" Which would be what Callie? "

" Let's go on an actual date again. It feels like forever since we did the last time. " It really does...hadn't realized how much trouble we've been getting into since then...

" Alright. Same as last time? Dinner and a walk through Central Park at night? "

" That, would be perfect. " I kissed Leo for a short while before I got up to change.

" Uhhhh Callie? "

" Yeah Leo? " I turned to look at him.

" You do know it's only 2 PM right? We've still got like 4 hours before the sun starts to go down. "

My eyes widened in embarrassment.

Leo laughed. " Why don't we just hang out here for now? "

I smiled. For an idiotic, smug, cocky, and smart-aleck mechanic; Leo was pretty smart sometimes.

It's possible I'm the luckiest girl on Earth right now.

I know I'm late. I do apologize. So, because I'm so strapped for time due to School stuffs, I'll start updating twice whenever I do. I've got a final chapter number figured as well.

Chapter 70 will be the final. Unless I run my last card for too long. Either way, I won't be reaching over 75.
