Chapter 6

Just Like I Promised.

Leo POV

I turned on festus and his gears clicked and whirred he ran outside and i followed. When outside i hopped on Festus' back and he took off. Flying with my dragon again felt awesome.

" I missed you buddy."

I had tears in my eyes and we flew for about an hour before landnin next my cabin and Jason and Piper were waiting for me.

" Hey Guys!"

" Leo! Festus is back!"

They spoke in perfect unison.

" But what about the control disk?" Jason asked.

" My dad kind of made one."

" Wow. Lucky you. Piper said.

" Well I'm gonna go get Calypso."

" Just like that? You're not going to tell Chrion or say good bye to the others?"

" Nope I've waited long enough."

I went to my cabin to pack spare clothes, put on my toolbelt grabbed the astrolabe, zipped my duffelbag, and went to meet Festus and Jiper outside. I hopped on his back and was prepared to leave.

" Be careful repair boy." Jason flew up to me and shook my hand. Then he grabbed Piper.

" Yeah Leo. Just come back, okay?" she kissed me on the cheek and gave me a hug. They touched down and I took off.

* 2 days later.

I'd been flying non-stop for 2 days and festus was getting tired so we stopped in malta for a break. After a couple hours of sleep and power-down time for festus i turned him back on and we took off again.

* 6 hours later.

It's morning now. I couldn't tell the time exactly because the magic boundaries of the ancient lands and its powerful mist began to screw up my watch. I knew i was getting close though, i could feel it. Just then an island began to appear on the horizon a black speck of land revealing itself to me.

" Festus look! We're almost there!"

" Criiiiiccck, whir, crick-crick, whir."

" I know you're tired buddy but if you dont mind, could you kick it into overdrive? I'll feed 5 pounds of bronze if you make it there within the next hour. I promise. "

Festus happily sped up. The island inching closer to him. I began to see a smaller spec on the large island.

" Calypso. Festus! Double-time!"

We were moving faster now and festus landed on the oppostite end of Ogygia where Calyspo wasn't.

" Good job buddy. Here's the bronze i promised you. " I grabbed a heavy packed and spilled it's contents in front of Festus. Then I began to sprint to the other end of the island. I began seeing things I remembered from my time here. Her cave, her garden, her fountain( which was broken again), and then I saw her. Standing on the beach with her back turned to him. I wouldn't be suprised if she hadn't seen us, after all Festus was flying at nearly Mach 1. (1,000 MPH. Speed of sound)

I casually walked up behind her making the least amount of noise possible. When I was directly behind her I spoke.

" You still smell like Cinnamon, Sunshine."

Before I knew it, I was on the floor looking up at Calypso. She just judo-flipped me.

" Oh Gods! Leo?!"

" Well, yeah. Who else would it be?"

" You still smell like oil and machine grease, repair boy."

I stood up facing her. Mere inches from her face, but to me they felt like miles.

" I'm a son of Hepheastus; of course I do and i told you I'd come back. Don't act so suprised."

" Well, I don't want you here anyway. You should leave before i get m-"

I shut her up with a kiss. The kiss I'd waited an entire war for. Months on end and days without sleep. I now know that this is what i fought for. She is why i worked tirellessly. I pulled away from her feeling it was enough. Though when I did i looked into Calypso's eyes and she looked sad that i had.

" You talk to much. "

" So do you."

This time Calypso kissed me and wrapped her arms around my neck. I wrapped my arms aroud her waist and pulled her closer. I never wanted this to end. Sadly, Humans need to breathe.

" I'm so glad you came back for me hero. "

" Hey, I never break a promise."

" I was beginning to think you'd forgotten about me."

" C'mon Sunshine. You're way too pretty to foreget about."

" You're too goofy to forget."

" Oh yeah?"

" and dumb. And annoying. and- "

" I think i get it, Callie."

" I was going to say perfect. Repair Boy."

I kissed Calypso again. Third time since I'd seen her last. But this wasn't just a kiss, more of a make-out sesh.

This is perfect.

About time you found her again.

After that the goddess left his head and Leo hadn't noticed he stopped moving his toungue but Calypso had. She pulled away.

" What's wrong Hero? You stopped moving your tongue."

" It's nothing just thinking. "

I leaned in again but Calypso stopped me with her finger.

" That's enough for one day. Repair Boy."

" See?"

" See what?"

Her eyes sparkled and her cheeks were red.

" Just like i promised."
